Last Saturday evening Miss Norma I-ocklin entertained a few friends at bridge at her home in Warren street. Miss Anna Ibach, on of the October brides was the guest of honor. Miss Ibach's marriage to Gilbert Cllppingtof Indianapolis will be solemnized Tuesday evening at eight o'clock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Ibach In South Ilohman street. The guests spent the evening playing bridge whist and after several games the honors were awarded. Miss Mary Ibah had the highest score but the prize, a handsome silver candle stick w-as given to the honor guest. Music was also a pleasant feature of the evening's entertainment. At ton o'clock the guests were invited into the dining room and served with a prettily appointed two course luncheon. The table wsa prettily trimmed with pink kllarney roses and smilax, the appointments being daintily carried out in pink and white. An enjoyable meeting of the members of the Hammond Chapter of Eastern Stars took place last Saturday evening in the K. of P. Hall In South Ilohman street. It was the regular bi-monthly meeting to which all the members were Invited and there was a large attendance. The routine business was transacted and there was Initiation of one candidate. A social hour followed the regular ledge session and a pleasant time was spent with music and conversation. The members of the social committee served refreshments during- the social hour. Miss Breck' was ill and unable to return to Hammond at the opening of school. A MISSIONARY MEETING. The members of the Woman's Foreign Missionary society of First Bethodist hurch will meet at the home of Mrs. Jenks, 337 North Calumet avenue Tuesday, October 10th. It Is the regular onthiy meeting and the members of th church and society are invited to at tend. An interesting program has been prepared. ' A WEDDING CEREMONY. The marriage of Miss Myrtle Lautmann to Gus Bonner of Chicago was solemnized yesterday at the home of he bride's parents, Mr. and" Mrs. J. M. Lautmann In Michigan City. The ceremony was performed at Ave o'clock; Jii he present of a small gathering of relatives. There were about thirty guests, among them several from Chfr cago. The bridal couple was unattended. The bride wore a beautiful coaume of yellow satin, veiled with mar quisette and trimmed with silk fringe and duchess lace. Her going away gown was a tailored suit of purple broadcloth and she wore a hat t correspond. Vollowing the reading of the mariage ceremony the guests were invit ed into the dining room and served with an elaborate dinner of seven courses. The tables were beautifully arranged with decorations of yellow and white the bride's chosen colors. Streamers of yellow satin ribbon were stretched from the chandeliers to the four corners of the table's .where they were fastenej with large bows. The flowers were yellow and white chrysanthemums. The marriage of Miss Katherlne Demmerling and Otto ,Lango was solemnised last evening at Friedens Evangelical parsonage In Indiana ave nue. The Rev. P. Weil officiated and used the ring ceremony of the church Six o'clock was the hour chosen for the cer emony. The bride was atttlred in a beautiful gown of white sain, trimmed with lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of bride's roses. After the ceremony the members of the bridal party and a few relatives were entertained at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Susan Demmerling In East Sibley street. The parlors in which the guesta were received were attractively decorated with potted palms and cut flowers. Pink and white were the colors carried out in the decoration scheme. An important meeting of the members of the Jewish Ladles' Aid society will be held Wednesday afternon at the home of Mrs. S. .Levlne, 142 East State street. DRAMA COMMITTEE MEETIXG. A meeting of the draa committee was held at the home of the choir man, Mrs. J. F. Rellly on Saturday afternoon. The lesson consisted of an instruction In physlclal culture under Mrs. Gertrude Grosseup-Perklns of the Chicago University. Several plans were discussed as to the nature of future study and it was agreed that the session was to last one and one-baif hour. , One half of that time to be devoted to physical culture instruction. The other to be devoted to reading the flag committee has in contemplation allowing ten minuses for the reading of the minutes. j Miss Virginia Brooks was elected! secretary and treasurer of the club and it was reported that there . are abou thirty-two members of the Hammond Woman's club who have joined ths drama committee. There will be two session once in two weeks, one in the afternoon and the second on the evening of the same day. Both clauses wilt be under the guidance of Mrs. Perkins Both classes are open to any one who is interested in learning how to properly interpret the drama whether by self expression or in seeing come one else perform. This gives those interested in studying the drama under tho most favorable and instructive conditions with a teacher who has an International reputaton and excellence. The next meeting will be held at the home of the Vice Chairman Mrs. H. R. Rell on Rim bach avenue. The date of the meeting will be announced in a few days. Miss DeEtta Curry of Rimbach ave nue has returned from Benton Harbor. Mich., where she spent a few days visiting her mother, Mra. Curry, who has been ill for several weeks but who Is now recovering nicely. Word has been received from Miss Nina Pettlt. who was called to her home in Vernon vlllo, Ontario. Canada, last week .telling of the death of her father. The funeral was held yester day. Miss Pettit is the principal of the Washington school. Mrs. H. Schroeder of Harton, Kan., is the guest of Mrs. Green and Mrs. nunyon at their home in East Plummer avenue for several days.
