DICTATES OF FASH'OV A peak shaped French hat was ot white plush faced with black and trimmed with two thick gray plumes at the side. The Indian durbar has been pro claimed for Dec. 12. and to its barbaric influence is ascribed the wonderfully barbaric note of newly imported silks. Quilled ribbon and fur are both to be used in quantities, and big upstanding bows of both satin and taffeta are among .the popular trimmings. Plumes are fashionable, and when used form the sole trimming. They are placed upright against the crown and should be thick rather than long. Filet ' lace Is much used for panels. yokes and itpdersleeves. Sometimes the figures are embroidered . In colors to carry out a tone Idea of the costume.
