It is also alleged that an engine on the Chesapeake & Ohio railroad, which , runs parallel to the Erie, was making BU ",uc" " WB5 'nipossioie to hear the approaching Erie express. 11 ls rlat, at there is a city ordinance which requires trains to slow down to a speed of six miles an hour while going through the city of Hammond and that the train in o.ues tion was going at a rate of forty miles an hour when it struck Krokmann. Ulm. The new manufacturing concern will make steel barrels of various types. It has steel barrels upon which five patents have been secured. These bar rels are very durable and are expected It is alleged as a result of the con duct of his wife that he has lost all divorced from her. The couple were married March 15, 1906, and separated January 13, 1911. NEW CASES IN SUPERIOR COURT (Special to The Times.) Crown Point, Ind., Sept. 2S. The following new cases have been filed in the circuit court here: 146 Mark Templeton vs. Andy Ryner. Civil. 147 C. L, Centlivre Brewing Co. vs. John Prascsak. Civil. 148 Horace Johnson and John A. Johnson vs. Henry Francis Chambers et al. Foreclose mechanic's lien. 14S Jennie Wells Lehman vs. Rodman Birch Wells. INC0RRG1BLE LADS ARE YOUNG THIEVES Thomas and Kddie Filias, the socalled youthful robbers who have giv- j en the local police any amount of trou- I ble, were again arrested last night ' after entering the residence' of Mrs. j Ruhstadt, 27 Webb street, last Tues day afternoon while the family were away. About two weeks ago they were tak. en before the Cook county Juvenile court in Chicago to answer for nuerous petty robberies which occurred during the past three months. Because of their youth and the plea of the other and father, they were released and given another opportunity. They entered the Ruhstadt home Tues day afternoon and made entrance on the rear porch through a window. The. rumaged the house and found two pocketbooks, which they took, and about twenty keys. Just how much money was taken Mrs. liuhstadt was unable to tell, and thinks there may be other articles missing which they took. Tuesday night they slept in a box car and yesterday morning they started out to spend their money. They took in the picture shows and went to Gary, and upon spending the money they were suspected. The local police were notified and search was made for them during the day. Yesterday afternoon they broke Into a car on the Michigan Central side tracks and stole a watch and a gold : ring. The car is used by the men who j are putting in an interlocking system j on the Michigan Central road east of the depot. Not satisfied with having stolen the watch and ring they found some eggs which the young- rascals threw and broke in the interior of the car. The watch was recovered last night, but the lads told that they lost the gold ring. The elder lad said he lost it from his finger when he was running away. The lads said they did not reember the name of the Rurstadt residence, and said they would point out the house they entered Tuesday afternoon. Chief Austgen and Captain Hanlon took the lads this morning and they pointed out the Ruhstadt home. On theis way the lads pointed out five or six homes in South' Homewood which they had planned to rob. Mrs. Ruhstadt did not know of the robbery until Chief Austgen arrived with the boys, and upon seeing the elder Fllas boy she remembered him as the lad she gave a BO-cent piece some months ago to "go on an errand for her, but he never returned with the change. The lads will be turned over to Truant Officer Stanford and it is hoped that something can be done with them. MARRIAGE LICENSES. (Special to The Times.) Crown Point. Ind., Sept. 28. Most of the stock in the new company has been subscribed by Ohio capitalists, but some of the stock has been purchased in Hammond. To Dr. F. H. Fox of Hammond belongs the credit of interesting the promoters of the project in Hammond as a location for the plant. Peter W. Meyn said today that it looked to him as though the promoters of the new steel barrel have a good thing. He said that he would not be surprised to see the new company grow to be as big as the Simplex Railway Appliance company and employ as many men. The new barrels can be made to sell for $4.50 each and are not only cheaper, but are much more durable than wooden barrels. It Is expected that work on the first buildings of the new plant will begin in a few days.
