(Clippings from NEWS, Sept. 15.) Storm Causes Damage WORST ELECTRICAL STORM OF THE YEAR SWEEPS THE CITY v DOING GREAT DAMAGE. The White Store was probably the heaviest losers In last night's storm. Manager Cohen had Just got in an especially fine' line of fall goods. Among the assortment" were lots of underwear, hosiery, shoes and men's wear of all description. After the packly cases were emptied it was so late In the evening that the boxes were left piled on the floor of the basement. The whole basement was flooded to a depth of about four inches. The lower boxes became soft and crushed down with the weight of the pile on top. The result was that pile after pile of boxes were thrown into the rapidly rising water. Manager Cohen estimated his Joss at between four and five thousand dollars.'

The White Store's Misfortune means Tremendous Savings to you who buy now These Damaged Goods will only toe Sold iivoiir Big Basement Salesroom. ) . . . . : THROUGH AN unfortunate occurrence, during the recent big rain storm, our popular daylight basement was flooded, causing a damage by water of many, many hundredths of dollars to the new Fall and Winter stocks "of freshly arrived merchandise, temporarily stored in preparation to removing same to upper floors. At this writing we are unable to state definitely the exact amount of our loss, but it will run into the thousands. r OUR PRIDE and rigid policy of carrying only high grade and first class merchandise on our upper floors, prevents us from placing any of these goods in stock, no matter how slightly soiled they may be. WE HAVE but one object in view and that is our desire to dispose of these damaged stocks as quickly as possible, as we are crowded for room, owing to having by telegraph reordered such goods as were damaged. COST OR value is our least consideration, although every section of our big store will contribute to make this event a memorable one. We want to positively state that none of the damaged goods will be sold on tho upper floors.r-J. J. COHEN.
