The members of the Sunshie Club spent an enjoyable afternoon yesterday as the guests of Mrs. John Huber at her home in Truman avenue. It was the afternon for the regular bi-monthly meeting and all the members were present. They met for several games of cards and pedro was played at small tables In the parlors. Miss Anna Rphrman received the first honors in the games and Mrs. Charles Luthman, the second. The consolation prize was 'awarded to Mrs. J. P. Ryan. Following the games the members enjoyed other ! social diversions until four-thirty clock when thty were served with a daintily arranged course luncneon. Mr. C. E. The members qf the Martha society of the First Christian church met for an all day session yesterday in the parlors of the church in Calumet avenue. It was the regular weekly meeting and the usual number of (numbers attended. A dinner was served at twelve o'clock and during the afternoon the members of the August committee served dainty refreshments. The day was spent witn sowing for the benefit of the society and church and a, gat deal of work was accomplished. The plans were also made for the meeting next Thursday which will take place In the parlors of the church and for the meeting the following week. Mrs. Rogers will entertain at the meeting In two weeks at her home in Murray street. It will be the anual "Birthday Social" and a delightful program is being arranged for the day. An Interesting meeting of the members of St. Paul's Lutheran League was held last eveninsr In the schol hall, the corner of Sibley street and Oakley ave nue. There was an attendance of about thirty members.
