Mrs. Margaret Kuf, one of Crown Point's oldest residents and mother of Fred Ruf of this place, died yesterday morning: of a complication of diseases superinduced by rheumatism and old age. She leaves four grown sons and daughters to mourn hTr Mrs. Peter Miller, Mrs. Emil Miller, Fred Ruf of thife place, and William Ruf of Chicago. The funeral will be held Sunday from the ,home of her son, William Ruf, In Chicago. The deceased has been ailing for several months and has suffered greatly. - -v . James Merritt has recently completed a brick smokestack for the Diessel flower house, which he claims is high enough to get a good birdseye view of Gary and surroundings. Jim Invites anyone, so desirous, to make the trip up the big scaffold and see what Lake county really looks like. Crown Point will play Whiting at the local grounds tomorrow afternoon and will endeavor to win their first game from the Oil city team this year. Whiting has been a hoodoo for most of the teams In the league, but seems to have a particular preference for Crown Point in that line.
