"SOME CITY. BELIEVE ME"
(Special to The Times.) Indiana Harbor, June 23. George I
Dahlinq of South Chicago was In Indiana
Harbor Wednesday with his steam launch, Ieone Heron, for the purpose of arranging with the owners of the Inland f?teel company for permission to use their pier opposite the South Bay
hotel as a landing place for his boat
during the navigation season.
The Leone Heron is a forty-passen
ger boat, and It is its owner's purpose to run regular excursions between In
diana Harbor and various points, in
cluding Kobertsdale, etc.. charging 15
cents for a half hour's ride. It is also
proposed to run clear into Chicago and
any port that may be designated by parties desirous of chartering the boat for excursions.
If permission is secured of the In
land people for the desired use of the
pier a party of forty will be brought
out from one of the Chicago yacht
clubs in the near future, and Fred Na-
gle of the South Bay is in town to make arrangements for the dining of
the party, who propose to stop off at the hotel for refreshments.
Should the use of the pier be grant
ed, it will make the South Bay hotel a
very popular resort with parties from
Chicago coming out for a summer evening's enjoyment.
WICKEY GETS CONTROL OF ICE CO
(Special to The Times.) East Chicago, June 23. E. V. Wickey has purchased a controlling interest In the Lake County Ice and Cold Storage company. Incidental to the transaction is the retirement of A. G. Schlieker and Mose Silverman from the concern. It being their interest which has swung the control into Mr. Wlckey's hands. Some time ago Mr. Wickey pur
chased William Hale's interest in the ice company and not long ago he put up the proposition to buy or sell to Messrs. Schlieker and Silverman. He wanted a larger interest in the business or none at all. The result of the proposition was that Schlieker and Silverman agreed to pell out. Mack Foland will be retained in his present position of superintendent, and
i there will be a meeting of the stock- ! holders called for the near future, when a new board of directors and a new
set of officials will be elected. Incidentally It Is intended to put in some needed improvements at the plant, for which Mack Foland made requisition some time ago.
price too often is given the greatest consideration, when really it is one of the last things that should be considered, for if a job seemingly saves fifty dollars in first cost and then wastes ten dollars worth of fuel yearly, instead of being cheap it is extravagant. A uteam or hot water heating Job may be Installed in such a manner at to comply with any reasonable guarantee and still be a fuel eater as there Is no rule which governs the amount of fuel required to heat any given building. The only sure safe guard is the selection of a contractor who Is thoroughly reliable and financially sound, and rely upon his judgment. With his reputation at stake he will figure ample radiation, properly proportioned piping and a boiler which will furnish sufficient steam or hot water with the minimum amount of fuel.

Brings MeBp It' TomirisH pOR some miles back, the automobile engine haj been behaving badly finally it came to a full stop. Examination failed to, locate the cause of the trouble. Through the darkness, the light in a distant farmhouse could be seen. Was there a telephone there? A tramp to the farmhouse; a call to the nearest garage over the Bell Long Distance Line; a few hours' delay, and the automobile tourist was able to proceed on his way. There are few highways and byways over which the automobilist travels, where he is beyond the range of the Universal Bell Telephone System.
