The . special Sundry dinners, which will be a, feature during the summer, will be

served tomorrow as usual.

Yes, it is a little too early to make

a guess on the outcome of "Dog Face Charley's" case. Borne men in Gary spent their time in doing nothing but pulling wires, and they don't work In a switch tower, cither. Stories In other papers should never be denied unless they are found to be absolutely untrue. Then it's bad form, too. Yes, it's awfully hard on dear old Grandma Carr these hot days. The poor old lady gets so pervlsh when she's scooped that there's a hellova time around the Tribune office when it happens. Churches with electric fans, Ice tea and wafers would be popular places tomorrow. The Gary Elks baseball team are going to try out the Michigan City team this afternoon. Remember we said try. "Dog Face Charlesy's" face would be enough to convict him without him saying a word. Alderman Castleman is getting so nervous about the purchase of the lake front park that we fear he will grow ill. It can't really be that Castleman wants to get out and gambol in the green.

Week End in Gary. Wallace Edward Smith of the Chl-

a serious operation, were shipped to Los Angeles this morning for burial. Mrs. Sullivan .was 49 years old and

leaves a husband amd two children to . ca Daily News is spending the week mourn her loss. ' j ed with Will Reed Dunroy of Lake . . . ; Woods park. Mr. Smith is a nephew of

FOR THE TOILET. For those who spend much time at the seashore, aod espeelnlly for those who ro Into the Tvntcr, a few words of caution will be well. Before iroinft Into the water, mb Into the skin, fare, neck, arms and behind the ears a plentiful supply of cold rrraini rub It In well. One ran hardly use too much, as it clesni.es the pores benntlfiilly. Remember to rub the serenm be- 4 hind the ears, all over the fare

and throat, and over the arms; cover the cream with a powder made of equal parts of French chalk and rice powder. The water will not take It all off. and It prevents blistering. The hair . must be well protected from the salt water, as it ruins the hair, leaving; It sticky and stringy. After leaving the water, use warm water first on the skin. An excellent lotion to follow the bath la prepared as follow t Four ounces of alcohol, two ounces of glycerine, half a pint

of orange flower or rose, or

elderfiower water, two ounces of

powdered almonds, or the almood meal will answer, and half

a nounce of sallcyclle acid. DIs-

solve the acid la the alcohol, add

the glycerine, and add very

slowly to the flower water In . which the almond meal has been

shaken. Ise freely on the skin after the warm bath, to keep It

soft. After severe exposure In the water, fill the burned skin .

with cucumber cream and leave on for half an hour; then bathe

and use the above lotion.

Rose cream for sunburn Is made as followsi White wax, one-half ounce spermaceti, one- . half ounce; sweet almond oil, two ounces; Melt all together In a double boiler, and mix well .

by stirring. Pour into a heated .

bowl and add very gradually

one and one-half ounces of rose

water, one-half ounces of witch .

4 hazel; beat to a cream and put into a covered jar.. Apply freely

before and after exposure to the

sun. A harmless face powder dusted on the cream will benefit. .
