They batted the ball freely, ran the bases daringly and fielded most excellently, while Big Ed Walsh stayed the attack of the home team by a plentiful use of the spit ball. The score was 7 to 2 and the game belonged to Chicago all the way. It was Walsh against Russell Ford, the clever little spit ball flinger, and Big Ed made up for the beating given him by Master Russell in Chicago. The onslaught seemed to unnerve Mr. Ford to such an extent that he became horribly wild in his frantic efforts to stop the rush and by so doing beaned two of the Sox athletes, laying Capt. 'Thunderbolt,' After Bitter Fight, Sends Sullivan Down for. Count.

London. June 9 Billy Papke, the American fighter, who claims the middleweight championship of his country, knocked out Jim Sullivan, the English champion, in the ninth round of their

scheduled twenty round battle last night at the Palladium. This victory, it is claimed, crowns Papke as the middleweight champion of the world. The men fought under the English weight limit. Thoy weighed in at 160 pounds at 2 o'clock. Papke was two ounces undr the limit, while Sullivan was well within the weight.
