Jimmy Clabby and Georye Knockout Brown. The Hoosier and the Greek, among: the best fighters in the middle west at 154 pounds, are to pummel each other In the next wlndup bout to be stagred at the Hammond Athletic club. Jimmy and Knockout are to mix It next Thursday night, June 8. over the ten round route, and should put up a mill full of thrills and sensations. This match has been waiting: on the punching: weapons of Brown. The K. O. fellow bunged up his hands trimming Billy Grupp at St. Joe some time back. He was matched to box Clabby. but a postponement was necessitated by his injuries. Nate Lewis, who handles the Grek scrapper, says Brown's bands are as tough and good as ever now and that George will be right when he Is sent In against the globe trotter. The closing of the match for the

above date was announced at the Schlossberg-O'Nell ringside Wednesday night and met with a shout of-approval from the crowd. For when Clabby fights everybody In Hammond who has the price Is early at the arena. And Brown has as big a following here as any Chicago fighter. The Greeks all over the country are watching the career of Knockout and will back him liberally in his mill with the Hammond crack. There Is no doubt but that this go looks like the biggest drawing card put on in this vicinity since the Thompson-Kelly affair. The Hammond promoters will be fortunate If they can provide space for the crowd that will be eager to see the clash. Clabby is a dandy, heady boxer. Brown, while lacking Jimmy's skill with the gloves, is tougher, probably stronger and a simon pure slugger. They should put up a lively battle.

That Chicago followers of motoring contests will get the cream of this season's events was assured yesterday when word was received by Chairman Charles E. Gregory of the Chicago Motor club's contest committee that another event had been added to the card of three national fixtures to be conducted under the auspices of the American Automobile association. This event will be the annual hill climb of the local organization to be held at Algonquin next Thursday. It makes two national contests awarded the C. M. C. for 1911. The other is the Elgin road race meeting set for August 25 and 26. Algonquin originally was on the na

tional circuit, but because of the bonus required by the A. A. A. for the event and the fact that no revenue is de

rived aside from the entry fees, it was decided to run the affair independently

and conduct it as a western contest,

The decision of the local organization was made known to Chairman Butler, who wrote that under the circumstances he would be glad to classify the Algonquin contest as a national event and place It in the same category as the Glidden tour and the Elgin road races. '

A little later lie drove in two runs with a single, took second when the ball was thrown home, and then stole third on the second ball the pitcher threw, scoring a moment later when Bodie singled.

BOXING CIRCUIT NOW PLANNED Memphis. Tenn., June 2. With Tom

my Andrews of Milwaukee as chief matchmaker, and with Milwaukee, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Memphis and Xew Orleans included. It was announced here today that a new boxing circuit with A. C. Exnlclous and D. J. Torterich of New Orleans representing the syndicate in the' youth, has been formed. It is proposed to route the boxers over this circuit, guaranteeing them weekly matches, the booking to be made in the same manner as in vaudeville. Five fights at least are guaranteed the boxers in the event of winning.
