The joke is on Dr. Salisbury. He thought It was on his friends un til yesterday.
Being In need of a rest and having
decided to take a short vacation, he
left the city without letting his friends know where he had gone or how long
he expected to stay.
He thought he would let them do a
little guessing as to his whereabouts.
They did. The result was that his ab
sence gave rise to all sorts of rumors.
Finally the matter became so serious
that he saw the Joke had gone about
far enough. In fact, it had gone too
far, in the opinion of some of his
friends and relatives.
Today Salisbury surprised bis friends
by suddenly returning to Hammond
He came back to assure them that his
absence from the city was solely for
the purpose Of giving him the oppor
tunity to enjoy a much needed rest.
He thought he could slip out of the city and take a little vacation and then
return aid resume his practice withou
attracting much attention, but his
friends missed him and scores of in
quiries about his whereabouts was the result. However, Dr. Salisbury has returned and those of his friends who had feared that he had left the city for good are glad to find that they were mistaken. After returning to Hammond and assuring his friends that he is still a fixture in Hammond, he today left the city to enjoy the rest of his vacation. He will be back in his office Monday morning.
