There was a large number of members In attendance and they spent a very enjoyable afternoon at the card tables. Several games of pedro were played at small tables in the porlorsiand at the conclusion of the. games the honors were awarded. Mrs. Jacrb Kussmaul received the first honors and Mrs. CJeib,
the second. The consolation prize was awarded to Mrs. Mat Klein. Music and conversation were features of the hour following the games after which refreshments were served. The hostess serve! a dainty luncheon of two courses. Mrs. George M. Eder was named as the. next hostess and she will entertain at her home tn South Hohman street In two weeks on Thursday. ENTERTAINS AT CARDS. The members of the Sunshine Club were the invited guests of Mrs. John Huber at a very pleasant afternoon party yesterday at her home In Truman avenue. Mrs. Huber entertained her guests at cards and the guests enjoyed
several gamns of pedro. The games were' played at small tables in the parlors. Miss Anna Rohrman received the first honors in the games and Mrs. C. K. Jackson, the second. The consolation prize was awarded to Mrs. H. L Dorten. Following the games the guests were Invited Into the dining room and served with a dainty two course luncheon. The table had a pretty center piece of
flowers. The announcement was made of the next meeting to take place In two weeks when Mrs. C. E. Jackson will entertain at her home in Claude street.

ENJOY THE AFTERNOON. One of the delightful parties of yesterday afternoon was given by Mrs. Roy .Traverse, who entertained the members of the Fern Leaf Linen Club
t their regular bi-monthly meeting at
her home !n Sibley street. The guests were Invited to spend the afternoon at
the card tables and they enjoyed sev
eral games of whist. After seven games the honors were awarded. Mrs. Charles Miller, Mr. Claude Campbell and Mrg. Henry Burge received the
honors in the games and the consolation prize was awarded to Mrs. Edward Murden. At the conclusion of the games the guests enjoyed social conversation end music until the luncheon
hour was announced. A daintily arranged luncheon of two courses was served in the dining room. Pretty decorations of flowers and greens were chosen for the table. The next party will be given in two weeks and Mrs.
Fredericks A. Bull will entertain at
her home in State street.

J. A. Muller entertained the members of the Oak Leaf Embroidery Club at
a very pretty party yesterday after
noon. Several of the members were present and Mrs. Muller had as her
only invited guest for the afternoon, Mrs.
J. T. English. The guests met Informally in the parlors and enjoyed their
needle work and social conversation until four-thitry o'clock when they were invited into the dining room and served with dainty refreshments. A luncheon of two courses was served. A bunch of'pretty sweet peas and smilax
was chosen as a center piece for the table and the color scheme was daintily
carried out in pink and white. Mrs. A. C. McMahon will have the ladles of the club as her guests at the next neextlng

A THIMBLE. A very enjoyabls afternoon was spent
by the members of the Colonial Club as
the guests of Mrs. W. F. Brunt at her
home. 25 Mason street. It was the af
ternoon for the regular club meeting
and the usual social diversions were enjoyed. Needle work was the leading
feature of the afternoon and a short musical program was also enjoyed. The serving of a dainty luncheon at fourthirty o'clock, concluded the pleasant entertainment. Another party will be given in two weeks on Thursday afternoon and the hostess will be named later. A SVRPRISE PARTT.

cleared a nice sum, but the exact
mount is not known. The opening
number was a reading by Tom Warrlllow who entertained the aruesta verw

play entitled "Between the Acts" i
given by the members of the guild as- !
sisted by a few young men of the
caurch. The play was a little three act comedy and the parts were cleverly
acted and brought forth a great deal of applause. At the conclusion of the play the guests met socially and were
served with refreshments
PARENTS CLl'B MEETING. The members of the Parents Club of
the Lincoln school met for their last meeting of the school year last evening at the school hall. The meeting opened at seven-thirty o'clock with a laren
number of members In attendance. An invitation to attend was extended the
parents In the school district and
their friends and the attendance was the largest of any meeting of the year.
A very Interesting program had been
arranged following which the evening
was spent In a delightful social way.

president of the W. C. T. U will be in

and in Gary Sunday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock. Mrs. Stanley will speak at the
First M. B. church in Hammond Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock. The announcement will be made later of the morning service. The public is invited to attend any or all of these services.
