Lake county people who own stock; In the American Steel Foundries Co., and there are a large number of them who recently bout this stock when It was at Its lowest figure following tha panic of 1907. will be sorry to hear that this stock broke four points yesterday. Boerslaner, in the Chicago Examiner, says: "'The selling of Foundries was undoubtedly real, for the Issue Is to closely held to be the butt "of a stock; operator's play. Some stockholder or stockholders doubted the feasibility of continuing the present rate of dividends. Hence the liquidation. President Kelley, however, declared that th selling may be unwarranted. While the earnings of the quarter have not equaled those of the corresponding period last year, the outlook for fait business Is propltous. In Kelley's view. The directors will meet In New York; on Wednesday, when they will determine whether a reduction In the dividend is needful. He. Kelley. does not believe that payment should be cur tailed."
