EMMA SORROW FILES

DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS

Emma Sorrow, through her attorney

E. G. Sproat, has tiled a complaint for a divorce from her husband Joseph

Sorrow in the Lake Superior court.

The complaint alleges that the plain-

tilt and the defendant were married

March 25. 1910 and were separated

May 9, 1910. It will be noticed that the

couple were married only a little more

than a month when they were sepa rated.

It is alleged in the complaint that the defendant struck and beat the

plaintiff and threatened to kill he

with a razor. Since this happened the

plaintiff avers that she has worked as a waitress in order to earn a living. She charges further that he husband charged her with infidelity and that he was grouchy and mean most of the time. A divorce is asked.

sult of work done on the county Jail.

Default Divorces. Iater this afternoon Judge Lawrence

Becker of Lake superior court Vo

took up a number of default divorce cases. The custom of trying these cases on Friday afternoon is being followed by Judge Becker.

Judge Makes Edict. Judge Lawrence Becker, of Lake su

perior court, room No. 2, does not propose to have small boys listening to

the revolting details of the loose marriage relations of the Gary negroes.

For that reason, and for the reason

that it will not do the young men of the city any good to hear the details

of one of (he most brutal crimes that

has ever been committed in Lake county, the judge ordered that a sign be placed on the door of the courtroom which reads, 'Minors Must Stay Out."

Filed in Superior Court. 7309 Emma Sorrow (E. O. Sproat) vs. Joseph Sorrow. Divorce. 7310 Jacob C. Rough (Lyddick) vs. Kamel Komomeehi. Suit on account. Confession of judgment for S933. 7311 Margaretha Kohnke (R. R. Peddicord) vs. Karl Kohnke. Divorce.

Another Divorce Suit. Margaretha Kohnke, through her attorney, R. It. Peddicord of Hobart, has filed a complaint for a divorce in the Lake superior court in which she makes some sensational allegations. She charges that her husband, Karl Kohnke, compelled her to live in a filthy house in a slough and would not permit her relatives to come and see her. One' of the most unusual allegations made in the complaint is that Kohnke

is an electrician and earns only $100 a

month. She alleges that the defendant would not support her. that he would remain away day and night and would leave nothing in the house for her to eat, and that finally her health was

such that she was compelled to go1 to

Tolleston to live with her parents. She says the defendant has $100 of her money. She asks for a Judgment for $100 and $12 a week for the support of the child.

Files New Action. frana. Radloski,"" through his attorney D. J. Moran, has filed an action against the Standard Steel Car Co. in which he seeks $12,000 damages for the loss of an eye. The plaintiff alleges that he was employed in the passenger car department and that it was his business to take a hammer and a punch and pound down the uneaven places on the sides of the steel cars. lie alleges that the punch with which he did his work was made of hard, brittle steel which would be likely to splinter and that he was not warned of teh danger to his eyes in the event such an accident happened and a piece of steel flew Into his eye.

He alleges that he had been warned he would have provided himself with a pair of goggles which would have protected him.; The accident hapened May 1. 1910.
