Mr. Griesel is the son ot Henry C. Griesel of this place and is well-known here, having been a resident and former business man of Crown Point. No particulars could be obtained as to the cause of his sudden death. The announcement came as a distinct shock to the many friends of the family here who were not aware of Mr. Grlesel's condition. The funeral arrangements have not been made as yet. but the remains will be brought to Crown Point, for burial. Advertised mail: Chas. Burkley. Sarah Chopl, Rev. Andrew J. Charles Wolferman received the sad intelligence on Saturday announcing "the death of a sister at Logansport, Ini.. she being buried on Sunday. That troubles never come singly is clearly demonstrated in Mr. Wolferman's case at present, his wife being seriously ill s is also his mother at the home in Winamac. Much sympathy is expressed for the family in their bereavement and sickness of its members. Mr. and Mrs, Charles Ropke and daughters of Chicago were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stross of 116th street Sunday. Frank Seliger of East Side spent the day here with his sister. Mrs. Henry Eggers of Roberts avenue." The funeral of Mrs. Annie Ivorscak f Harrison avenue who died at St. Margaret's hospital Friday night was held at the St. John church, Monday morning. Mrs. Dvorscak was 45 yearn old and is survived by her husband and two children. Interment took place In Greenwood cemetery. A number of friends of Mrs. Pruitt tepped in aV her home in Harrison avenue and surprised her in honor of her "1st birthday anniversary Saturday evening. A very pleasant evening was spent in social conversation. At ten o'clock dainty refreshments were served after which the guests departed for thlr homes wishing Mrs. Pruitt man more such happy birthdays. Mrs. Herman Thissen entertained a few little children at her home In Indiana boulevard Sunday in honor of her son Williams' 8th birthday. Games of various kinds were enjoyed during the afternoon until five o'clock when a dainty luncheon was served. Contractor Hoffman of Hammond was a Robertsdale business visitor yesterday. A missionary from some foreign land will have charge of the services. The marriage of Miss Rosie Thomas and Mr. Peter Huber occurred sthi morning at St. Mary's Catholic church. Mrs. Merrill is reported as being quite ill at her home on Court street. Tom Fauser left yesterday for Crete, 111., where he goes to serve an apprenticeship in the carpenter's trade. Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock a quiet church wedding took place at St. Bridget's Catholic church, when Miss Julia Fleck, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fleck, was united in marriage to John F. Griffin of Valparaiso. The ceremony was - performed by Rev. Huff in the presence of the intimate relatives of the bride and groom, the ring ceremony being used. After receiving congratulations from their many friends the young couple left for Chicago, where they will spend their honeymoon. They will reside at Valparaiso, where Mr. Grlffn is employed in the office department of the Mica company of that place. St. Elmo will be presented at Ftratton's Opera House this evening. The town board held a special meet ing last evening at the town halt at vhich meeting the electric road mat er was discussed. Colonel P. IT. Hard of Aurora was present and tried o convince the board that this pro posed line would be beneficial in every way for Hobart. His views in this matter seeced to be good ones, and fnet with approval by the town board. LOWELL. Miss Floretta Hildebrandt of Crown Point was the guest of her brother, Harvey, In Lowell Sunday. Sam Simpson, Nick Minnlnger and Wm. Tram transacted business in Chicago yesterday. Mrs. Charles Palmer was seized with sudden attack of illness Sunday night, and came very near dying. George Kostonick, who was locked up on Feb. 21st, when it was thought that he was Insane, having made threats upon the life of Herman Stone of New York avenue to such an extent that Stone was compelled to get out a surety of the peace warrant against him, was yesterday released. Stone has succeeded Kostonick in his position in the car shops of the Standard Oil company, and it is for this that he seems to be seeking revenge. Since being out of work Kostonick has been drinking: considerably, and in this way he has evidently unbalanced his mind. Chief Lawler released Kostonick. who, according to the opinion of several, was not safe to be at large. An insanity inquest was to have been held yesterday, but Kostonich was discharged without being examined. Undertaker Hellwig yesterday conducted the funeral of Mrs. J. Dvorschak of Harrison avenue, Robertsdale. Services were preached by Rev. Benedict Rajcany at St. John's church. Miss Myrtle Gehrke visited her sister, Mrs. Frank Savery, in Hammond, yesterday.
