PREPARE FOR SOCIAL MEETING. Miss Marguerite Camp was "at home" to the members of division No. 1 of Miss Elizabeth Webber's class in music last Saturday afternoon at her

home, the corner of Fayette and Claude

streets. The usual number of young people attended the meeting. After

the Czerny Contest In which many of

the members took part, there was an

important business meeting. Plans for

a social day were made and the mem

bers of division No. 1 will entertain the members of division No. 2 at the

home of Miss Ruth Brusel n Logan street. A musical program will be

the principal feature of the afternoon and a number of friends will be invited

to listen to the program. The social day will be celebrated January 14th

and It will be the first meeting of the

classes in the new year. After the

busines meeting a short time was scent socially and the hostess served

dainty refresments.

the past week- end was an evening party" at which Dr. and Mrs. T. Edwin Bell entertained at their home In "Webb

The party will not be given until Monday afternoon, January 2nd and Mrs. Gostlin will entertain then at her home in Carroll street.

A very pleasant party was given as a surprise to Vernon Dufrain at his

celebrate his fifteenth birthday anni

versary and he was presented with

A RAINESS MEETING.

An important business meeting of

the members of Dorcas Rebeckah

Lodge was held last Saturday evening

in I. O. O. Hall in State street. It was

the regular weekly meeting and the

usual number of members was preesnt.

At the close of the lodge session the

officers remained to practice for the

initiation of a class of candidates at

the Indian Harbor Lodge, January

5th. The meeting promises to ' be an interesting one and many from Hammond will attend. There will be another meeting next Saturday evening and a full attendance of members is desired. PARENTS CLl'B MEETS. The Parents Club of the Riverside
