The morning service wilt consist of a special musical program by the choir, and a good sermon by a prominent Baptist divine of Chicago, Reverend C. W. Kemner. A different speaker will be present for the evening service, who is none other than the Dean . of Divinity School of U. of C. Dean Shalles Matthews, who Is widely known throughout the country as a scholar of note, and a Titer of not llttlt reputation.
SPLENDID DISPLAYS
AT SEIFERS
(Special to The Times.) i Indiana Harbor, Dec. 16. Much admiration has been expressed during the past few days over the brilliant display In the windows of Seifer's Big Store. These are so metropolitan In their get up, and so attractive withal that the spectator almost forgets he is In comparatively small suburb of Chicago, andmight fancy himself gazing Into an exhibit of some "down town" State strnet. mercantile establishment. The variety is most remarkable, and
posed reduction of this fat feet office, to a salary basis, which If adopted would, prove a sad blow to all .of the men throughout the state who occupy these offices. Joint representative elect .W. B. Van Home returned day before yesterday from Indianapolis, whither he had gone to attend an assembly of recently appointed members of the legislature to decide upon a course of action at the impending session of the executive body. He was full of the proposed change in the prosecutorship, as discussed by his conferers in Indianapolis, but declined to state what his views were with regard to putting through such a measure. "Feeling both for an against the measure, ran pretty high," declared Mr. Van Home, but the most of those
I heard express themselves regarding the change, seemed to favor it. My opinion? I have not yet given the idea sufficient thought to have a very well defined opinion. 'Another thing that the air was full of down there," continued Mr. Van Home, "was talk about establishing
the commission form of government to take the place of the present form of municipal government. This proposition has a great manyadherents. Local option is another. All together I look for a pretty warm session when the legislature once gets in action.
vote was cast in the entire county for O. B. Colquitt, the democratic candidate for governor. Two years ago the county cast a solid vote for Taf t for

The county, is situated In I branch of the state government, both the lower Rio Grande border region. j United States senatorshlps and all but For the first time "in thirteen years, J one congressional district. The prothe democrats of Indiana control every J gram of democratic legislation for the
next session will probably include the repeal of the county option law and the substitution of a law providing for city, ward and township option units.

WILL MEET TONIGHT.
(Special to Thb Times.) East Chicago, Dec. 16. The Home and School Association will meet tonight in the McKinley building for "the parpose of electing a new president. Incidentally there is to be a very fine program offered for the most part by pupils ,of the school. Superintendent E. N. Canine will give a talk
Harbor department store in years past.
There are novelties in men's and women's ware, and many of these articles
suggest themselves as both practical and elecant Christmas gifts.
Unlike many stores in towns of the size of Indiana Harbor, an Inspection of the interior of Seifer's proves, that in spite the magnitude of the exhibit, the- window display does not by any means constitute the bulk of the stock in trade. The shelves are loaded with fresh holiday goods, from dainty and inexpensive trinkets and trifles, to substantial and elegant materials, garments and articles of every description.
REPRESENTATIVE YM HORNE RETURNS Reduction of Fees in Prosecutor's Office May Take Place. (Special to Thb Times.) Indiana Harbor, Dec. 16. There is a big' stick in pickle for county prosecutors. ' It takes the form of the pro-

Bloomington Arthur Allen, son of Captain W. J. Allen, son of Captain V. J. Allen and a leading young republican, has been appointed assistant postmaster for the Bloomington office, to succeed Frank C. Duncan. Scottsburg Dr. Lvi McClain (dem.) defeated A. A. Hinds rep.) for member of the town council from the Third ward by a vote of 210 to 12S. A light vote was cast because many people forgot about the election. The election was made . necessary on account of resignation two months age of S. B. Wells, who was then candidate for joint representative from Scott and Jennings, and was elected. New Albny Judge W. C. Utz of the Floyd circuit court, holds a record for continuous service which is not exceeded by any jurist who has preceded him on the local bench. He has served two terms of six years each and on Monday entered on his third term of a similar length. He served two terms as prosecuting attorney before his elevation to the bench and at the time - Zapata county, Tex., lays claims to being the banner republican county of the entire country.
