ALL SAINT'S PROGRAM.
The twenty-second of October being
the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the Sisters of Providence In America, the students of All Saint's High school
rendered a very pleasing program in honor of the occasion. The exercises opened by a very pleasing address to
the Sisters delivered by Miss Cecfia
O'Shea. Then followed a short drama
tisation of a part of the life of Mother
Theodore, the Foundress of the Sisters
of Providence In America.
The first and second scenes of the
drama were laid in sunny France, the
birth place of the Order of Providence,
In the first scene, the early struggles of
the congregation were graphllally por
trayed; in the second, some thrilling
incidents in the life of the Fiundress were depicted, and the selection of the
six noble Bisters who made the foundation in America, announced.
The third scene transported the aud
ience to the wilds of Indiana, to what is now the well known mother-house of
the Sisters of Providence In America
but what was then "the forest prlone- J val." The heroism of the little band was
touchlngly pictured; the almost un-
superable labor entailed In the found
ing of what is. now the glorious Order of the Sisters If Providence, having in
creased from the original six to about a thousand was well depicted, reflect-
inb much credit upon the students who had prepared the drama as a surprise
for the Sisters.
The Instrumental solos by the Misses
Marie Malloy and Isabelle Smith were
artistically rendered. The following is
the complete program:
