shipped by Heller Bros, of the South Park Floral company.
It will take one end of an express
car to accommodate this snipmeni. it is the largest shipment of flowers that
was ever received in the Calumet region. J. J. Cohen knows, however, that
every women who enters the store will
be delighted when she receives her rose. That there will be hundreds of women wearing roses on the streets on Friday evening; that every woman who wears a rose will tell every woman she meets where she got it; that these women will tell others and in the meantime the White Store will be getting hundreds of dollars' worth of advertising. It is a clever scheme.

Completes Treatment.
Superintendent C. M. MeDaniel will
complete his treatments for immunity from rabies next Thursday when he
will take his last injection of the immunising virus. He has been going to Chicago for these treatments ever since
he was infected by a rabid dog.
A Small Blaze. A small fire in the Columbia hotel
in East Hammond brought out the Cen. tral gre department and No. 4. The
fire was due to the spreading of the gas flame under the coffee urn In the restaurant, the damage not being more than J 15.
Meeting Postponed. The pension board was scheduled to hold a meeting yesterday, but owing to the absence of Drs. H. E. Sharrer and Clark the meeting was postponed until the next regular date, the third Wednesday in November.

The General Electric Co. is building for the Indiana Steel company, Gary, Ind., a seven-panel switchboard to control feeders of 220 volts in its coke oven plant. The combined feeder capacity of this switchboard is 22,000 amperes at 220 volts and 25 cycles. The General Electric company will furnish the entire controlling equipment, among which will be four 6,000, six 3,000, two 2,000 ampere C. K. circuit
breakers mechanically interlocked in pairs no the outside logs and twelve 5,000 ampere lever switches. All parts of the equipment consist of stock parts, nothing special being used.
