The contract called for a seperatlon

tract was signed before the ceremony was begun. Judge Bunday said the
picture inclosed by Mrs. Dilks was an
excellent likeness of the man Brown,

alike.
He is inclined to give credence to Mrs.

the ceremony as a travesty on marriage
and talked of a mass meeting to de

Authorities in the steel trade are assuming that the longer the railroads pursue their policy of keeping out" of the steel market the heavier will be the buying when purchases are again begun, forwants are accumulating and so are surplus ' earning with which- to supply them. For the first time in the history Of Poor's statistics a decrease in the total number of locomotives was shown in the figures for 1909, the decrease being 400 from 61,030 to 60,601, and that despite the fact that the mileage reported increased 6,310 miles.
The tenjjrecedlng years had shown an Increase of 24.284 locomotives. As to cars the last report of surpluses and shortages showed a. great reduction in the surplus to an almost negligible point, and it is known that the railroads are keeping in service many cars which ought to be abandon
ed, their repair cost being far in excess of the interest, sinking fund and repair cost of new cars.
