LEGAL NOTICES.
APPLICATION FOR LICENSE. Noice is hereby given to the citizens
of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana, and to the cltliens of the sixth ward of the said city, .that I am a male In
habitant and resident of said City of Hammond, North Township, Lake Count-, Indiana, and above the age of twenty-one years, and that I am a man of moral character and I have been con
tinuously a resident of said city and
township for more than ninety (90)
days last past, and that I will apply to
the Board of County Commissioners of
said Lake County, State of Indiana, at
their November term, 1910, for a license
to sell intoxicating, spiritous, vinous
and malt liquors.
The premises upon which I desire to
sell intoxicating, spiritous, vinous and
malt liquors in ' less quantity than a
quart at a time and permit the same to
be drunk is described as follows:
The front room on the ground floor
of the two (2) story half brick and half
frame building, of which said room is 25
by 20 feet, and faces on Summer street.
public highway, in the City of Hammond, North Township. Lake County.
Indiana. -
The said building is situated and lo
cated on lots 89 and 90 In block nine,
Standard addition to the City of Ham
mond, Lake County, Indiana. There
are two rooms in, the rear of said bar room, five living rooms on the second
floor. The bar is on the south side of
the said room. There is one front and
one rear entrance. The building has glass front so all the inside of said room where said intoxicating, spiritous, vinous and malt liquors are to be sold can be ,seen from said Summer street.
The said building Is known as No. 839 Summer street. In the City of HammondNorth Township, Lake County.

appointed to lend whatever aid In their power to secure the necessary right of way between Crown Point' and Cedar Lake, or as has been stated heretofore as far as they liked in conjunction with other committees along the line. "Purtelle's proposed route In Lake county Is from Lowell along Lowell road to Cedar Lake, from Cedar Lake angling cross-country to Crown Point, striking the county seat on the section 17 line, running down Main street, to Monitor, thence west and on to St. John, Dyer, Munster and Hammond, with a branch
to Chicago Heights. The financing of
Purtelle's road Is somewhat of a mys
tery to cltisens In this community, but as the eastern financial Journals have dwelt on the project as a possibility
and the fact that the Erie railroad officials are keeping their weather eye
open as to Purtelle's manipulations
there is a suspicion that there may be
something more tangible than mere hot air to Purtelle's scheme in connecting the central Indiana lnterurbans with the gateway to ChicagoThe following citizens were appointed to serve on the committee; Chairman, A. L. Salisbury F..E. Farley, Horman Sasse, Charles Meeker and John Frass. Purtelle made the astounding statement that should the committee be fortunate enough to secure right of way by Thursday he would have men put on the construction work by Friday. Going some for even an interurban promoter.
