CELEBRATING GOLDEN WEODDING,
Mr. and Mrs. David Dickson of 262 Sible y street are celebrating today their fiftieth anniversary. About fifty relatives are at the Dickson home today, where for many days active preparations have been going on to render the affair a pleasant success. Many of the out of town relatives were there to enjoy a one o'clock luncheon, while all were present at the big six o'clock dinner. The evening will be spent with
music and conversation, which of
course will recall many interesting
recollections of early Hoosier days when Mr. Dickson came to Henry coun
ty from Canada sixty years ago. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Burrls July 29, I860 near Knightatown. Ind., where they made their home until they came to Hammond in 18S3. Having lived here for twenty -seven years they are thoroughly competent to speak with authority on the evolution of Hammond from a tiny, sandy hamlet to a thriving industrial city in a comparatively short time. The relatives from Burris of Woodlawn, Mrs. L C. Arting of Wilmette and Mr. and Mrs. Sarah Hanlon of Crown Point.
