; THE BECOMING WHITE LACE VEIL.. Every woman Is a beauty under the heavy white veil, which softens th complexion wonderfully and disguises facial blemishes. The features, too, are softened by such a veil, but the fair woman should not attempt the white veil of heavy lace, whloh Is charming1 when drawn over dark eyes and hair, but makes light hair and eyes lnsig-nincant. This veil Is of imitation Llerre lsce In a simple, allover design. The photograph shows how the veil Is pinned straight around the hat, the lower portion being afterward drawn under the chin and fastened at the nape of the neck.

LODGE WORK

There's quite a orowd of P. M.'s from

various Indiana P. O-'s In town today

Our idea of something to do is being

a Gary contractor for about a week.

None but a few of the brave ones are

wearing straw hats as yet.

April showers By the way Oft hang over Into May.,

Even if the postmasters travel

around the Calumet region they won see anything like Gary.

About four years ago Mayor Knotts

Since eheese has gone up In price

and Gary restaurants charge 1Q cents

for a cheese sandwich, they should place a price tag on each sandwich If they are not strong enough to speak for

themselves.

Passing through the tall of the com

et is nothing compared to passing

through the winter with one suit of

summer underwear.

Latest reports are to the effect that

Colonel Mayo is still hanging on to the

tail!

Tolleston is running a close second in

the building race. -

All indications point to a bountiful

crop of sand burrs this fall.

Gary is now infested with tramps, which is almost as bad as the fleas.
