There being no officer on hand Collins went down himself, but could see no East Chieago fellows could be seen, as Drahous' bulldog had frightened them when he grabbed one of them. Drahous said, he supposed, because they were from East Chicago, they could come to Whiting and do anything they wanted, since they tried to annex us, but his bulldog showed them they couldn't and now he wouldn't part with that canine for $100. Officer Vacha arrested Geo.Whlncze on Wednesday night for being intoxicated and Officer Niziolkiewicz arrested John Debbo on the same charge. Both were tried before Mayor Parks yesterday morning and fined Jl and costs. Debbo said he had no money to pay the fine, and was being taken back to the cell, but when he saw this facing him again he pulled a $20 bill out of his pocket and paid the fine and costs, amounting in all to $12. Levi Burns, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Burns of Ohio avenue, is suffering from a broken collar bone which "he sustained in playing pull-away on the school grounds with several of his schoolmates. The work of catching the boys who were getting into the public school and destroying different articles, is being given much credit. The clue was secured by Officer Vacha through seeing a hoy on the street with a new school pencil.
