Crown Pt. K. P.'s Celebrate. .;The local Knights of Pythias were hosts last evening of the" grand chancellor of the-grand lodge of Indiana at their hall in the Allman block, and the event was one of the most noteworthy, affairs, in the annals of the fraternal organization. Aria M. Brown erf Winchester, Ind., grand chancellor tn Indiana, was the guest of honor, and brother Pythians from Hammond, Lowell,. Valpo and other parts of Lake county were present to assist in the ceremonies. The visit of the chancellor was chiefly to exemplify the secret work of .the organization, and a number of candidates were Initiated ' last evening In order to show the ritual which was passed upon by the grand chancellor. The Pennsylvania train was met by fifteen or twenty automor

biles-containing the K. of P.'s .who formed a procession ,and escorted the guest-of honor to the lodgerooms. The big, affair wound up with a banquet, at which nearly seventy-five of the knights were seated. The local K. -of P. organization is resuming its activity after several years of resting on its oars and Is 1 now "one of the biggest and most progressive of the many fraternal ' organizations in Crown Point.

"kVhether any convictions can be procured remains to be Been, but there is every .evidence -that Lake coufnty' people would be willing to see these cases go by the boards as very little will be,

in all likelihood, accomplished by rehashal of the cases.

Prepare for Memorial Day. -The local G. A. R. organization, assisted by the Sons of Veterans camp at this place, have commenced preparations for the observance of Memorial day, which they expect to surpass all previous efforts through the assistance given them by the younger organization. The North Judson band has been, procured for the day and besides the usual exercises at the cemetery and at Central Music Hall, thre will probably be other arrangements made whereby the annual memorial day may be fittingly observed and remembered. Work on the program has already commenced, and those in charge will secure some noted speaker 'to 'address the old veterans on their "own" day. , "Betsy and I Are Out."

Automobile drivers seem to be paying little attention to the existing speed ordinances In Crown -Point, and

a big share of them break the ordinance with as little respect for it as the Pennsylvania railroad has In regard to the speed limit on its passenger trains. The ordinances rigidly enforced in both cases with an occasional arrest and stiff fine might do the work that a lot of newspaper notices fail to do. Crown Point Is well represented at the Lake county oratorical contest at Hammond tonight, and at least a hundred from here are attending the affair. Crown Point's chances to win the event seem to be exceptionally good, as Miss Glen Gorde is reported to be -an excellent speaker, and her many friends are hoping she may win the coveted honor for Crown Point this year. The outcome is awaited with great interest by those not fortunate enough to attend the annual affair. It is said that the blind pig cases will be resumed at the opening of the April term of court and fought with all the strenuosity which characterized the trying of the initial cases.

New Tuberculosis Cure Based on Medicine

Telling every eufterer to gorge himself with eggs and milk is apparently the limit of modern treatment. Any diet that keeps a Consumptive well nourished Is the right one. but what is seeing to cure the patient? I5ckman's Alterative has cured and Is curing many a case of Consumption.
