THRILLING RESCUE IN BAD FIRE f Continued from Page 1.)
After he and officer Firsco had tried the houses In the neighborhood to get at a telephone, he decided that the speediest way would be to the Are station a half mile. He made a record race and after having given the alarm dropped exhausted on one of the beds In the station. ' . It was about 2 o'clock this morning when Mrs. Kunsney.was awakened by the smoke In her flat. The fire started In the back end and gutted the whole first floor She had trouble In arousing her three children, but finally got her U-year-old boy and her 11-year-old girl into the open air. The flat inside was already, a raging furnace, but she rushed back, and wrapping her Jiight gown about her 2-year-old boy she carried him into the open air. She was QUite. badly burned and the night gown in which she carried the child was burned. Fortunately the child escaped without 5 inury. In the upper flat Stevens lay sound
asleep, unconscious of he danger." The firemen battered in the door to the Cat and hurried him to the street. Lom Covered by InnuraBC. Mrs. Kunsn'ey and her children were taken to 4820 Northcotte avenue. She was most severely inured, having been burned around the head,, neck and arms. They were given clothing and were cared for. .Steven spent the night at the home of the chief of police, Albert Lewis. Ben Flack, the fire chief, found about $75 in money which had been in the Kunsney flat. Part of the money was in bills, which were damaged. " The building was insured for $1,700. The loss is estimated at $1,000. The contents in the lower flat, valued at J5'00. were all destroyed. In the upper flat there was a loss of $150. covered by $300 insurance.

SHRKEUP IN GARY'S GITY HALL
What may be considered as a small sized shakeup in the city hall occurred
this morning when Fire Chief Feeley
- dismissed Capt Frazler and City Clerk
Harry Moose dispensed with the serv ice of Miss Hulda Lager.
Frailer last night took the auto fire - patrol to a fire near Tolleston and on i the way back met with an accident in which the machine was damaged. An
argument about the fault for the accl dent resulted in Frasiers dismissal.
The amount of work and an argument about it in the city clerk's office
" brought about Miss Lager's resignation

CALUMET THEATER.
H. H. Frasee, who presents "The
Time, the Place and the Girl," the at
traction billed for the Calumet theater,
Sunday, April S, matinee and night. Is a firm believer in placing the prettiest
girls in the most, conspicuous places at
the proper time to produce a - counter
irritant in the minds of those who think
they are about to be disappointed. He believes in a song hit that can carry itself on its merit. Is quadrupled by the swaying group of unimpeachable broilers in the foreground of an array of well gowned showgirls and his experience has taught him to pick winners in arranging his productions. The young women who constitute this section -of "The Time, the Place and the Girl possess an these qualifications "so necessary to please the eye and charm the ear, -There are ten musical numb'ers which are given additional color
by the beauty of such girls in timely action. It' seldom, If e-ver You'll find them together, "The Time, the Place and the Gtrl.M Those who have aeen "The Time, the Place and the Girl are responsible for the statement that there is not a single song In it that is not clever and catchy. Most plays of this sort have
one or two breesy things upon wnicn the entire production hinges, but the unceasing variety of melody and mirth of this production has gained for it an undying reputation. It Is to musical comedy what "Uncle Tom's Cabin" has been to drama, except that "The Time, the Place and the Girl" has not been allowed to deteriorate by unworthy productions. It has ben held up to the highest key by the best talent obtainable to Interpret the leading roles and backed by a chorus of real merit, who are costumed in the richest dresses that money can buy.
