: HAS POLICE RECORD
iTior Ceadgren Had Been ; Sentenced Under Indeterminate Law.
(Special to Thb Times.) East Chicago, March 10. It has developed that Thor Ceadgren of Walsh avenue, the man who was arrested on Monday night after terrorising for i three days the neighborhood in which he lived and driving his family out of 'doojrs. is a genuine, dyed-in-the-wool badj man, who has a most unenviable police record. " Inquiry of the Chicago police' elicited the fact thatCeadgren was "no good" and that he has served time in Joliet on
five charges of burglary, having been sentenced for these crimes under the Indetermined sentence law In 1904. The report from Chicago contained the words "no good" in big letters, and left no doubt In the minds of the local authorities that Ceadgren was a bad actor over whom It would be well to exercise a close watch. Ceadgren was up before Mayor
Schlleker yesterday charged with disorderly conduct, and the mayor took occasion to administer a caustic tongue lashing which made the culprit wince. The fine and costs will be the means of keeping Ceadgren behind the bars In Crown Point for twenty days, and after that the police will keep an eye n him, In anticipation of future trouble. In the meantime, a number of East Chicago householders, who suffered within the past few months from burglary are wondering whether Ceadgren could by any possibility have had guilty knowledge of the crimes, or been actively participant In them.

funeral of Joseph Bimba, the man picked up by the Indiana Harbor police Sunday evening between Parish avenue and 136th street in Michigan ave

Mr. Bimba was the victim of one of
the most mysterious accidents or murders that has ever occurred In Indiana
Harbor. Thus far there Is absolutely no evidence In the hands of the police to shed the smallest ray of light on how tha man was killed, other than the result of Dr. Frederick Sauer's post-mortem examination, which failed
tv reveal anv abrasion of the scalp or
skin, from jvhich the doctor drew the deduction that a blackjack had been the cause of the man's injuries. He was buried this morning in Holy Crrs cemetery. Undertaker Andrew Kmiec having charge of the Interment.
