Mr. Ulman has made many acquaintances during his visit in Chicago and Hammond who extend their congratulations. Mr. Uulman is employed by the government in Washington and holds a very respons
ible position. The bride is the daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Mayer Rubin of this city and during her residence here
was very prominent in the younger society set. She attended the Hammond
high school and while in attendance at

and Comedy company and took part In
several of their comedies. After leav
ing high school Mrs. Ulman studied music at a Chicago conservatory and
was In concert work in Chicago until
last summer, when she went to Washington for an extended visit with rela
tives. She returned to Hammond at the holidays.'' The announcement of her marriage will be received with in
terest throughout Lake county, where she has many friends.

Mrs. Fred Bund very pleasantly entertained a number of young people on Tuesday evening at her home in State
street in honor of her daughter Gertrude's sixteenth birthday anniversary. Music and games were enjoyed by those present. At 6 o'clock the young people were invited into the dining room and served with an elaborate four-course dinner. Covers were laid for twenty young guests. A bunch of cut flowers and ferns were chosen for a centerpiece of the table. The guests departed at a late hour wishing the hostess many more happy returns of the day.
