Philadelphia, Feb. 19. "Mike" Mur

phy, the famous athletic trainer, has decided that wrestling is too dangerous for football players to Indulge in and will no longer permit the University of Pennsylvania's gridiron men to grapple with the strong men of other universities. Murphy's reason for turning against the sport Is the many injuries sustained this winter by Pennsylvania wrestlers, most of-whom, are football players.

Hellman, one otf the big linemen,

broke the drum of his ear and was out of the sport for she weeks; Burdick was out an equal length of time because of a torn ligament; Payne broke his arm.

and finally Pike, the giant guard, broke his right leg above the ankle. This

was the last straw, and Murphy ordered Burdick, who had recovered from his

torn ligament, to give up the sport,,

Although East Chicago was ahead at the end of the first half it looked like a certain victory for the game team

successful ln making several baskets during the last minute, thereby passing their opponents. The game was one of the best seen in Gary this winter outside of the Valparaiso-Gary game. It was full of snap and ginger and the Gary team showed much improvement slt-e the time they played Crown Point.. So fast and furious was the game at times

that numerous fouls and many discussions arose among the officials during the evening. Taking everything into consideration, the teams were evenly matched and It was Just a case of where East Chicago was lucky in making the final points. Knotta and Bowlby starred for the
