IB has the following to say: "Two golden wedding celebrations occurred In this city yesterday, being celebrated at the homes of Captain and Mrs. Peter Peterson, 832 South Madison street, and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Parkinson, 720 South Jackson street. Both families conducted the celebrations in a very quiet and informal manner, the meats being chiefly relatives and old friends. A, dinner party was held at the home of Captain and Mrs. Peterson yesterday, at which children and grandchildren were present. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. O'Connor and children of Milwaukee, and P: J. There was an attendance of only twelve members, the others being detained on account of the Lenten season and illness. Miss Swalm of Minneapolis was an invited guest for the afternoon. The. guests were entertained at cards and played progressive euchre at several small tables In the parlors. Mrs. F. S. Bets was awarded the first honors and Mrs. John II. A SOIETY EVENT. The Hammond Woman's club will hold its next regular meeting on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 19, at 3 o'clock In the auditorium of the First Presbyterian church. "Drama Day" will be celebrated and the members of the committee, of which Mr6. Frank. Hammond Is chairman, have arranged a very delightful program. The entertainment is anticipated as one of the most pleasant meetings of the club year. Among those who will take part on the program are Miss Josephine Matthys of Chicago, who will give several readings. Miss Matthys graduated with honors from one of Chicago's leading
