A DELIGHTFUL PARTY. Mrs. Frederick A. Bull very delightfully entertained tha members of the Good. Will club yesterday afternoon at her home in State street. All the members were in" attendance at the meeting and decided to have bo other social meetings until after the Lenten season. The guests : met for" cards and played several games of pedro at small tables
In'. tba ; parlors. The .,' honors were awarded to Mrs. Frank Baker, first, Mrs. Thomas Hart, second, and Mrs. , "VV, X Truedell, third. The consolation prize was won by Mrs. Kemp. After
the games the hostess served a daintily ararnged course luncheon at small tables. LARGE ATTDIETfClB AT REVIVAL. The larges audience that has yet been in attendance at the revival meetings In the First Methodist church was present last evening. They listened to k strong sermon on "If the , righteous Is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"' To be righteous and live the truth of God is no easy task. Enemies beset even
Christians. - The devil Is the tempter
and. wields deceiving and ensnaring
schemes. He even tried to overthrow'
Christ. The -world itself tends to turn people away from the Truth. The human heart Is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.' The speaker showed how Satan comes as an angel of light and deceives the unwatchful. The ungodly' and "the sinner can have
no, chance of success without the help
of Christ. Many took part in the testimony service. The singing of the Misses Mitchel in duet and the men's quartette
has been very helrful. The latter wijl sing tonight. There will be services on Saturday night. v AN INTERESTING REPORT. Following is the report of Mrs. J. Frank Meeker, recording secretary of the Indiana Federation of Woman's clubs, which will be-of interest to Lake county club-women: "The mid-year meeting of 'the board of managers and district chairmen of the I. S. F. C- was held at the Claypool hotel, Indianapolis, on. Feb. '3. There were twenty-six members In attendance. Reports from officers and chairmen of committees show that the federation Is organising
for effective work - along the .lines started alst year. The president. Mrs. Grace Jujian Clarke, is a moat capable officer and discharged her duties . as presiding -oflleer with aaa. tict and great executive ability. It was? decided that two or three lines, of v Jtical work shall be followed" by the different clubs. The main Issue la to be the franchise for women on school questions. All club members are rquested to work to secure this; each club to
j work In its own locality. The biennial ' convention at Cincinnati was a topic
of great interest. This convention promises to be the best ever held: The keynote of the state convention to be held in Richmond in October is: "Childhood's Bill of Rights?' Mrs. Virgil Ixick-
wood invited the convention to visit Herron Institute in the evening as her
guest. A number accepted the invitation and enjoyed the St. Gauden's memorial exhibit and Mr. Steele's paintings.
The next meeting of the board will be held at Indianapolis in April. Mrs. J.
Frank Meeker was the only member
present from northern Indiana.
