,o striking In effect that they bid fair to i find their way Into the spring ' models. One particularly noticeable model shows the crown of a large roll
ing brim shape entirely covered with white ostrich, feathers. This trimming
is in the form of narrow hands sewed flat to the shape. The underbrim is
raced with black velvet, and on the right aide vrhere the brim dips rather
sharply a bunch of violets Is posed on the edge of the brim.

Why Men Are Afraid To Marry
This problem Is solved! Because wo men'of the-present day are so extravagant,-and the reason of this Is that so many girls are never brought into contact with the expenses of home life. If mothers would teach their daughters how to become economical wives, and allow them to take their part In the household duties, and teach" them how to cook and go through the house accounts, much unhappiness might be prevented. . . For Instance, a girl leaves her home where she has been accustomed to every luxury and comfort, andmarries a man In receipt of a small income, and expects to live In the same style as before, forgetting that her husband's Income will not alio wof It.In many cases the husband lunches out, and the wife might prepare a dainty little meal that he could take with him, which would be a great saving.
The wife, too, if she Is clever with her' needle, can make a number of pretty things to wear, so that she can look her best at all times. It Is a great mistake" for a woman to "think that because she has married, she need not trouble about her personal appearance any longer, or to grumble. She should ecognize that if her petty
troubles of home life are serious, how much more serious are his, with all the worries and anxiety of business, and she should endeavor to brighten his life with her love and womanly sympathy. A cheerful wife is a treasure. A man's home should be the one place In the world where he can forget all his worries and cares. ' It is possible under these circumstances to be perfectly happy though poor, but the great trouble of the present day is that the young people want to begin where their parents leave off. Lillian, in Home Notes.
