The usual informal entertainment of games and contests will be enjoyed during the evening and it is expected that several will be in attendance as the meeting is the first after the holl-holidays.

The remainder of the evening was spent in an enjoyable social way until the hostess served a course luncheon.

There was no business ' transacted at either party and the announcements of

CAIJFORNIA EXHIBIT CARS.

The North Bay Counties association

of California, representing the five counties north of San Francisco, have

sent out an exhibit car, which will ar

rive in Hammond over the Erie rail

road on the morning of Jan. 8, and will be open to the people of Hammond

Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 8

10 and 11. The exhibit is the selec

tion of Luther Burbank as perfect, and

this is the only collection of Burbank's

creations that were ever exhibited on

cars. There are two or tne cars, wnicn will be on the Erie tracks at Fayette

street, and admission charge of 25

the first meeting of the members since early in December and many were in attendance. Cards were the entertain

ment during the afternoon and several games of pedro were played. The honors for the afternoon were awarded to the hostess and Mrs. Barney Kenny. After the games the guests met informally in the parlors and enjoyed music and conversation. The hostess served dainty refreshments. The next meeting will be held as usual In two weeks, although the place of meeting has not been decided.
