THE FASHIONABLE BLUE AND, BLACK GOWN COMBINATION. Nothing is smarter among the fashionables this season than the costume combining black with a certain rich, deep blue color called "ascension." In this instance the black crepe de chine gown is embroidered In shades of the deep blue color, ' and the tunic, of ascension blue chiffon, is thickly beaded with dull steel. There is a fad this season for wearing hats with decollete frocks in theater boxes, and this costume is matched by a big hat of black velvet banded around the crown with steel and blue sequins, the feathers heing a pale gray shade.

Ortt & Towle 129 Hohman Street

There are two good things at Towles mm--mmm-mmmmmmmm-mm-mm-mmmm j this week. Tonight Lyman II. Howe's '

pictures will be shown accompanied by what is said to be a very clever and learned travelogue. Among the things that will be shown

are flying machines, scenes from the Montreal Winter Carnival, 'pictures of traget practice and scenes in foreign lands. An effort is made to add the

sounds that would naturally accompany the pictures and in this way make

them as real as possible. ;

The quest for the North Pole has culminated in a dramatic discovery that forms the biggest feature in j Lyman II. Howe's Travel Festival at i the Towle Opera House to night. The story of the struggle is told in pictures as no words could tell it. The equipment of the polar party, its dogs and : sledges hauling snow for the water supply, cutting up walrus for the dogs, the painful progress over the ice, and the final dash for the pole are all shown

in this remarkable series. The severe strain on man and beast, in their struggle through the great frozen seas and snow-hidden land, kindles admiration of their courage in everyone. In another feature, the heroes of the air, the "birdmen" Curtis, Farman, Latham, Blerlot, Paulhan, are all hown In full flight. Biplanes, Monoplanes every form of aeroplane the modern mind, could conceive to conquer the air,, are seen in tests of speed and endurance. "The Blue Mouse'? is being shown in New York where it is likely to re-
