" BRIDGE GOWN OF CRIMSON CREPE. The model Illustrated Is one thatmight very easily be copied by the amateur dressmaker; for the, design is a simpl one. for all its apparent elaboration. Bodice and skirt are separate, the bodice, tucked across its lower edge and slightly bloused, . being confined at the waist by a girdle with similar tucks. The skirt drapery, crossing in front, falls straight at the back and the deep points below the hips are knotted and weighted with tasseled ornaments. This model Is developed in deep crimson crepe meteor, the -embroidery on the bodice being in shades of dark red.

Christmas bells and holly were the principal decoration in the parlors. The next party will be given in two weeks on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Gravensteln In Michigan avenue. The members of St. Agnes' Guild of St. Poul's Episcopal church were pleasantly entertained by Mrs. Wheeler last evening at her home in Williams street. It was the regular meeting and several of the members were present. The routine buiness, was disposed of and the remainder of the evening was pleasantly spent In a social way. Music and conversation, were features and a dainty luncheon was served. The next regular meeting will occur in two weeks and Miss Mayme Mashino will entertain at her home in Doty street. All the members are invited to be present. v MEETING WAS POSTPONED. The members of the Embroidery club postponed their meeting again and there will be no meeting this week. A party may be arranged for the holiday week, but no definite plans have been made. IS ILL WITH LAGRIPPE. Mrs. Robert Hollcraft Is reported to be 111 with lagrippe at her home in Truman avenue. Her friends hope she will recorer at an early date. ATTENDS HAMMOND PARTY. Mrs. Eunice Youche of Crown Point was entertained by Mrs. Lawrence Cox last evening for the meeting of the Monday Evening Bridge Whist club at her Homewood residence. FERN LEAF CLUB PARTY. Mrs. Dufrane will have as her guests at a pleasant afternoon party next Thursday the members of the Fern Leaf Linen club. Cards will be the entertainment at the party and several games of pedro will be played. All the members expect to attend. Medicines promptly delivered from Summers pharmacy. AN INDOOR PICNIC. Miss Ethel Ebrlght pleasantly en tertained the young ladies of the Inter Se club last evening at her home in Ogden street. An indoor picnic took the place of the regular weekly meet ing, which was announced to take place this evening. Several of the members were present and spent a very enjoy able 'time in the usual way of the club, playing bridge whist. Several of the members devoted the evening to their embroidery work. An enjoyable feature of the meeting was a grab bag in which small Christmas remem brance were hidden. A picnic luncheon was served at , the close of the evening. The next party will not oecur until after the holidays and Miss Eileen Clark will entertain then at the home of Mrs. George A. A. Mason In Rimbach avenue. Miss Norma Locklin was taken in last evening as a mem ber and was among those present. The other members In attendance were Misses Mary Krost, Mary Ibach, Ellen Ciark, Amy McGregor. Alice Holm Florence Loveridge, Mae Campbell, Edith Goodman, Fannie Ruhstadt, Ag nes Meikle, Mae Nelson, Irene Mott and Ethel Ebrlght. i -A PLEASANT MEETING. Miss Gertrude Gescheidler of East Sibley stree had as her guests at a very pleasant meeting last evening the young ladies of the S. S. Embroidery club. All the members were present and spent an enjoyable time with their embroidery work, music and social conversation. At a late hour the hostess ierved a daintily arranged course luncheon. The next party will be held on Wednesday evening, the regular club meeting day, and all the members are invited to meet with the Misses Louise and Lillian Doege. The following were present last evening: Misses Ella Buehring, Edna Euwert, Rose Spoerner, Louise and Lillian Doege, Florence Mangold, Hattie Genrlch and Gertrude Gescheidler. ENTERTAINS AT CARDS. One of the' very pleasant social events of the holiday season was an evening party at which Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cox entertained the mem bers of the Monday Evening Bridge Whist club last evening at their Home wood residence. It was the regular meeting of the members and a delightful time was spent with the usual entertainment. Bridge whist was played at small tables in the parlors and after a pleasant time spent in the games the honors were awarded. Mrs. Law rence Coxvwon ladles' flrst honors, but gave the prize to her only guest, Mrs Eunice Youche of Crown Point. Mrs W. B. Conkey was awarded the other honors The gentlemen's prizes were won by Mr. A. Murray Turner and Mr. W. B. Conkey. The remainder of the evening was devoted to social di versions until a course luncheon was served The decorations were typical of the holiday season and were charm ingly carried out in green and red. The only guest was Mrs. Youche and the following members were In attendance: Messrs. and Mesdames Wr. F. Bridge, E. F. Johnston, C. E. Olhausen, P. W. Hudson, W. D. Webb, W. G, Paxton, T. W. Mrs. David Darley of Hobart spent the day in Hammond, transacting business and visiting friends. LEAVES ON A VISIT. ' Mrs. R. 6.
