Bell will pleasantly entertain the members of the Alphia Phi club Friday afternoon at her home In South Hohman gtreet. A pleasant social afternoon will be spent with embroidery work and it is desired that all the members attend. RETURN FROM VISIT. Mr. and Mrs. Troutman have returned to their home in Fayette street after a two months' visit with friends and relatives in southern Indiana. A BUSINESS VISIT. Dr. White was in Gary yesterday on a short business visit. HOLD REGULAR MEETING. The regular meeting of the members of Nonpariel club was held Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Maude Reese in East Chicago. The ne cessary business was disposed of early in the evening- and three applications for membership were filed. The re mainder of the evening was pleasantly spent in conversation and music until a late hour when a dainty luncheon was served in the dining room. The next meeting will take place In two weeks and Harry Thomas will enter tain. VISITS RELATIVES HERE. Miss Mayme Maclntyre. formerly of Hammond but now of Chicago, was the guest of her sister, Mrs. R. E. Pfeiffer last evening at her home in South Hohman street. RETURNS HOME. Misa Qenevlve Briggs has returned to her home in Valparaiso after a pleas ant few days' visit with Miss Fern Sprague at her home in Carroll street. RETURNS HOME. Mrs: Sidney Goldsmith has returned to her home in Chicago Heights, Illafter a day's visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iochte at their home in Ingraham avenue, West Hammond. A DAY'S VISIT. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kunert have re turned to their home in Tolleston after a short visit with friends and rela tives in Hammond. HERE ON BUSINESS. Julian Youche of Crown Point was in Hammond on a day's business visit. A DAY'S BUSINESS VISIT. Attorney Otto Bruce of Crown Point transacted business in Hammond yesterday. ENTERTAINS AT DINNER. Mrs. R. E. Pfeiffer will entertain several friends at dinner this evening at her home in South Hohman street. A prettily arranged course dinner will be served at 6:30 d'clock and the evening will be pleasantly spent with cards. ATTENDS THE THEATER. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Finneran, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Ixderer and Mr. and Mrs. Saylor Long composed a theater party to see Ben Hur at the Auditorium in Chicago last evening. IMPROVING NICELY. It is reported that Miss Sylvia Stickleh, who underwent an operation at St. Margaret's hospital last Saturday is improving nicely. Her many friends will be glad to learn she Is recover ing so nicely. HERE FOR THE DAY. W. G. Arndt of a large Chicago wholesale house was a visitor in Ham mond today. ATTEND A LUNCHEON. Several Hammond ladles went to Gary today where they will be enter tained at a luncheon given by Mrs. James Coulter at her home there. A very daintily arranged course lunch son will be served at one o'clock and the remainder of the afternoon will be pleasantly spent with embroidery work. Mrs. Abe Colin will informally en tertain a few friends at her rooms in the Hotel Carleton this afternoon. Mrs M. R. Munn of IMttsburg, who is visiting here, will again be guest of honor. Mo who has been the guest of friends and relatives in Hammond and Chicago for the past few weeks, concluded her visit here, today. She left at noon for Lafayette, Ind., where she. will spend a few days before going to Champaign. 111., where she will be entertained by Pr. and Mrs. Frank Parker and family for a week. Mrs. Blanchard will be remembered by Hammond people as Miss Gertrude Stamp, formerly of Hammond. AN AFTERNOON PARTY. Mrs. Y. F.
