Miss Stauffer has been connected with the Gibson studio and others in Chicago, and has had valuable experience in photography.

RETURNS TO CROWN POINT.

Miss Emma Lisins, who has been visiting at the home of the Misses An

na and Genevive Hastings, in West

States street, left last evening for her

home In Crown Point. She will return

to Hammond about Monday for anoth er short visit. W. C. T. U. Meeting.

The regular weekly meetinf of the members of the W. C. T. U. will take place this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in

the Nazarene chapel. The usual pro

gram of the society will take place, and

a social time will follow. It was desired that there be a very large attend ance.

DANCING CLASS.

The regular Friday evening dancing class will be held this evening in Long's

hall and all are cordially invited to at

tend. It is expected that there will be

a large attendance, and many young young people from East Chicago will

be present.

tertained the ladles of the Fern Leaf Linen club yesterday afternoon at her home in East State street. It was the

regular meeting of the club members,

and they spent a very enjoyable time

playing cards. The guests played at small tables in the parlors, and after several games the honors for the aft

ernoon were awarded. Mrs. Charles

Miller and Mrs. Mat Schmidt were

awarded the first and second honors

and the consolation prize was given to Mrs. Roy Traverse of Indiana Har

bor. The remainder of the afternoon was pleasantly spent in conversation

and music until 5 o'clock, when the

street. Her many friends hope she will soon recover and be able ot be out
