Misses Katherine and Tillie Liesenfeldt returned home this morning from a few days' visit with friends and relatives in St. John. A PRETTY WEDDING. A very large and beautiful church wedding occurred yesterday in St. Mary's Catholic church in Crown Point, when Miss Emma Krost, daughter of Mrs. Mary Krost, and Mr. Edward Eder, son of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Eder. of Hammond, were united in marriage. The church was filled with friends and relatives of the bridal couple, many of whom came from a distance to be present at the ceremony. A very beautiful program of bridal music was played as the guests arrived at the church and at 9 o'clock the Iohengrin wedding march was played for the en trance of the bridal procession. They came down the long central aisle to the altar where they were met by the Rev. Father Guethoff. who read the nuptia high mass. The ring ceremony of the church was served. At the altar where the ceremony was performed the bridal colors were very beautifully carried out in green and white. Garden flowers and ferns were used to bank the altar. The hour for the ceremony was 9 o'clock. The bride had as her only attendant, Miss Rose Eder, a sister of the groom, who served as maid of honor. The groom had as his only at tendant, Gerald Krost, the youngest brother of the bride. The bride was attired in a very handsome whito lingerie gown, richly trimmed with lace. "She wore a long tulle veil caught to her hair with a wreath of flowers and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of bride's roses and orange blossoms. Miss Eder. as maid of honor, wore a very pretty white lingerie gown ani carried an arm bouquet of red roses. About one hundred invitations were Issued to attend the reception. The day was given to the congratultions of the young couple and at 1 o'clock an elaborate course wedding luncheon was served. The home was very beautifully decorated, carrying out the bride's colors in green and white. The large reception hall and stirway were beautiful with these decorations, the stirway having garlands of the white garden uowers other rooms where the guests met had large vases of the flowers. Mr. and ! Mrs. Eder left during the afternoon for a few weeks' wedding visit, but will return to Crown Point to make their home. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Mary Krost of Crown Point and has made her home there for several years. She is one of the leading society young ladies at Crown Point, being prominent in the social clubs of the city. She is a graduate of St. Mary's Academy at South Bend, Ind. Mr. Eder Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Eder of Condlt street, this city, but for the past few years has had a splendid position with the Abstract company in Crown Point. He Is known In business circles In the county and the young people have a host of friends who will extend their congratulations and best wishes. Among those who attended from Hammond were Mr. and Mrs. George M. Eder and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. Fred Krost and Mrs. John Idjorak. A PLEASANT MEETING. The Misses Emily and Bertha Ebert very pleasantly entertained the members of the N. N. Embroidery club last evening at their home in South Hohman street. It was the regular weekly meeting of the club members and several were present. The evening was spent with social conversation and embroidery work until a late hour when the guests were served with a dainty course luncheon. Miss Llllie Fedder will be the hostess at the next party fund will entertain at her home in State street next Tuesday evening. ATTENDS THE MATINEE. Mrs. W. G. Paxton of Rimbach ave nue went to Chicago today to join a party of friends and attend a matinee. A QUIET WEDDING. A wedding that will be of interest to many people in Hammond and Lake county occurred in Chicago yesterday when Mrs. Blanche McNeill and Mr. Charles Robert Curd of Minnesota were married. The ceremony was celebrated at a Catholic rectory, the corner of Sixty-fifth place and Harvard avenu, Englewood, the Rev. Father Murray officiating at the cerenony, using the ring ceremony of the church. The ceremony was very quiet, only a few relatives being in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Curd came to Hammond last evening and will remain for a short visit with Mrs. Curd's sister. Mrs. Harry MacElfresh, at her home In Cameron street. They expect to leave for their home In Gramath, Minn., Friday of this week and will make their home there In the future, where Mr. Curd has business interests. Mrs. Curd for several years conducted a large millinery parlor in the Hammond building, the room now occupied by the Ortt & Towle Stiop company. She left Hammond and since then has been in business in Streetor, 111. She frequently visits friends and relativei in Hammond and Chicngo and her friends will extend her their bent wishes and congratulations. HKSI'MKS WORK. Mrs. Mattie yionney resumed her duties at Ruhstadt's df-rartmont store yesterday after a pleasant ten days' vacation spent with frit-nils and relatives in Chicago. A PI.EASAXT MEETING. The regular meeting of the memhers of Progressive Court, No. 166, Tribe of Ben Hur, took place last evening in the K. of I hall. There was a very' good attendance of members and the routine business was disposed of early in the evening. Plans were also made for a social evening when dancing will be one of the principal features of entertainment to take place Thursday evening, Sopt. 30, in Long"s hall on State street. The public is cordially invited to attend the social and are assured of a pleasant time. A social hour was enjoyed at the close of the business meeting. A' EXJOYAIJI.E MEETING. Miss Millie O'Malley resumed her duties at the Lion Store yesterday aft er a few weeks' absence. Miss O'Malley was 111 at her home In South Hohman street for several days and later went to Knox, Ind., to recuperate. AID SOCIETY MEETS. The members of the Jewish Ladies Aid society are meeting this after noon at the homo of Mrs. I. Modjeska, 325 Wolter street, for the regular monthly meeting. It was desired tha all the members attend as a very pleasant social hour had been arranged to follow the business meeting. HERE ON A VISIT. The Misses Allen and Miller of Chi cago are spending a few days with Mis Liesenfeldt at her home in State Line street. AID SOCIETY TO MEET. The members of the Ladies' Aid Society of the First Methodist church are meeting this afternoon in the church parlors.
