BRAIDED BLOUSE OF CREPE. This separate blouse shows an attractive use of braid as a trimming. Formal; designs are seen on the entire blouse, and on the sleeves. The front part of the blouse is finished with black ribbon, white buttons and black jet. The neck is Dutch. Mrs. Morganau of Doty street has gone to Kalamazoo, Mich., to visit her daughter, Mrs. Lockwood, for several days. HOLD REGULAR MEETING. The regular meeting of the members of Hammond Hive, No. 2, L. O. T. M.. took place last evening in the K. of P. hall. The usual number of members attended and after the routine business had been disposed of thev enJoyed a short social hour. At the next meeting, in two weeks, the members anticipate a very enjoyable time and desire a large attendance. AX OVER SUNDAY VISIT. Mrs. Thomas Brennan of Rimbach avenue went to Plainfield. III., today to be the' guest of Mr. and Mrs. SonnA PRETTY WEDDING. A very pretty church weddinsr wab solemnized this afternoon at the Ger man M. E. church in Truman avenue, when Miss Rose Krug, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Krug, and Mr. Otto Buzzard were united In marring Th. hour for the ceremony was 2:30 o'clock and as the guests arrived a program of pretty music was rendered and the Lohengrin wedding march was played ror tne entrance of the bridal party. They came down the lonir central aisle of the church to the altar where the ceremony was performed. The Rev. Dessmeir officiated, nslng the ring ceremony of the church. groom had as his only attendant, Mr. Gilbert Krug, a cousin of the bride. The bride waa prettily attired In a white embroidered lingerie gown, fash ioned princess. The dress had dainty trimmings of valencennes laca. She wore a long tulle veil caught to her hair with a wreath of roses and car ried a large shower bouquet of the same flowers, tied with smllax. Miss Moore, as maid of honor, was gowned in old rose taffeta silk. Her flowers were also roses. At the conclusion of the church ceremony the members of the bridal party, the relatives and a few friends went to the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buzzard, 381 Walter street, where a reception was given in their honor. An elaborate course wedding supper was served the guests in the dining room where pretty decorations were used. The color scheme was attractively carried out in pink and white and roses and carnations and ferns were the flowers. Large bunches of the flowers were used as center pieces on the tables. The young people will not leave on a wedding trip, but will make their home with Mr. and Mrs. Buzzard at 381 Walter street for the present. They received many very pretty gifts from their friends and relatives. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Krug of State Line and has made her home in Hammond for several years. She has many friends who will extend their best wishes and congratulations on the announcement of her marriage. Mr. Buzzard Is also well konwn among Hammond young people. VISITS IX MICHIGAN CITY. Miss Alta Kennedy of Truman avenue has gone to Michigan City to be the guest of friends until Tuesday. ATTENDS WEDDXIG. Miss Avis Moore of Chicago came to Hammond today to attend the wedding of Miss Rose Krug and Mr. Otto Buzard at the German Methodist Episcopal church. ARRIVES IX HAMMOND. Miss McClalr has arrived in Hammond and will resume teaching in the Central building next Tuesday, after spending the summer vacation In Saugatuck and other Michigan points. AN AFTERNOON PARTY. Mrs. Charles Luthman very pleasantly entertained the members of the Fleurdeiis club yesterday afternoon at her home In West Sibley street. It was the regular meeting of the club members and they were all present to spen da social afternoon. Cards were the entertainment for the afternoon and several games of pedro were played at small tables in the parlors. The honors at the party were awarded to Mrs. A. Hill, Mrs. J. Glascow and Miss Anna Rohrman. Mrs. Mary Kralowlta received the consolation prize. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in an informal social way with conversation and music until the hostess served a dainty course luncheon. All the members were present yesterday and it was decided to have the next meeting at the home of Miss Rohrman in East State street. A SOCIAL. MEETING. The members of the North Side Ladies' club were the guests of Mrs. Whitlelb and Mrs. Ellis at a very pleasant meeting yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ellis in Cameron street. There was a very good attendance of members, about seventeen ladies of the society bxing present. The hostesses had as their invited guests, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Murray. A short business meeting was held early In the afternoon when business of importance to the members was disposed of. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in a very enjoyable social way with conversation and music. At 5 o'clock a daintily arranged luncheon was served. The next meeting will not take place until the first Friday in October and Mrs. Enwert and Mrs. Hill will entertain. RETURNS FROM MICHIGAN. Mr. F. C. Ryan has returned home ( from Les Sheneaux Islands, Mich., , where he has been for the past few j weeks for the benefit of his hay fever. RETURNS HOME. Miss Evelyn Banks left yesterday for her home in Michigan City after a pleasant visit with Miss Alta Kennedy at her home In Truman avenue. ENJOY VACATION. Word from J. W. O'Brien, chief chemist at the Grasselli Chemical works and his family, who are now at Mount Vernon.O., is to the effect that they are enjoying their vacation to the . utmost. RETURNS FROM WINONA LAKE. Mrs. R. E. Pfeiffer and baby of South Hohman street, returned home today from Winona Lake where they have been spending the summer. SPEND SUNDAY HERE. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Lau of Chicago are expected to spend Sunday here, the , guests of Mrs. Lau's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Reissig of State street. HERE OVER SUNDAY. Miss Maud Scriver of Chicago is expected to visit her sister, Mrs. Shepherd, at her home in May street over Sunday. RETURNS FROM THE WEST. Miss Alice Cole has returned to her home in Ogden street from a few weeks' visit in the west. She has been absent from Hammond about three weeks and had very enjoyable visits at Denver, Colarod Springs, Salt Lake City and Everett and Seattle, Wash. ENTERTAINS RELATIVES. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Surprise are entertaining Mrs. Surprise and daughter of Lowell at their home In South Hohman street today. ATTEND WEDDING. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Graves of Carroll street will leave Hammond tomorrow for Cincinnati, O., where they will attend the wedding of their son. Will Graves, and Miss Clara Reiber. The ceremony will occur at the home of Miss Reiber'B parents Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock and there will be many Invited friends and relatives. They will leave on a two weeks' wedding visit and return to Chicago to make their home at Sixty-sixth place
and Drexel avenue, where the groom has n apartment all in readiness. Mr. Graves is a graduate of the Hammond high school and since then has been employed in Chicago. He Is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Graves and is well known In Hammond and Crown Point society circles. Miss Reiber has visited in Hammond on a few occasions and has made several friends. A SHORT VISIT. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Cole and daughter, Miss Alice, and Mr. and Mrs. Jones will spend Sunday and Monday at the Kankakee river. RETURN TO HAMMOND. There wil be no service at the First Congregational church Sunday morning, but in the evening Mrs. E. W. Morey of Rock Island, 111., will deliver a sermon at 7:30 o'clock. Arthur Borman, Charles Toms and George Wolf went to Rockford. 111., today to be entertained by the Misses Lovegren over Labor Day.
