In its May number The National Banker congratulated Hammond on the "fact that IiCon A. Berezniak, formerly of Chicago has decided to locate here. Among- other very complimentary tilings about Attorney Leon A. Berezniak, the article says: Although a young man Mr. Berezniak is only 36 years of age his career in the .I'nited States since he came to this country from Russia strikingly illustrates the truth that in America a man is the architect of his own fortunes, and that success always lies within the grasp of the man who has the moral hacking of honesty, intelligence and determination. When this success Is achieved despite the handicap of an imperfect knowledge of the Kngllsli language, the achievement becomes more praiseworthy. His literary and legal activities have never weakened the interest Mr. Berezniak has always felt in the people of his own country and his own race. During the "World's fair his attention was drawn to the difficulties the Russian immigrant to this country had to encounter, owing to his Ignorance of the language ami customs, lie organized a society among the Russian in Chicago, which is still in existence and doing good work. Starting without influence and with a limited acquaintanceship, his success may be truly said to furnish an inspiration and incentive to every American. There is no handicap on life in America that honesty, industry and perseverance cannot overcome.
