TOLLESTOn WEDDING Diedel-Rofcerts Nuptials in Kunert's Hall Last Night. (Special to The Times.) Tolleston, Ind., July 21. One of the pleasantest social affairs ever held In Tolleston was the wedding yesterday of Miss Matilda L. Diedel to John J. RcTberts, of Chicago. The ceremony was performed In Kunert's hall, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion with palms, carnations, and water-lilies, the color scheme being green and

white. After the guests arrived, Miss Myrn Eabcock sang very sweetly "O, Promise Me," accompanied by Miss Inez Babcock, who also played the wedding march at 12 o'clock when the bridal procession entered the hall to the familiar strains of the Lohengrin march. Little Florence Kunert came first, bearing the ring, which was concealed In a white lily. Then came the rnaid of honor, Miss Estella A. Roberts, of Chicago, then followed the bridesmaid, Miss Ruth Kunert with the usher, John J. Diedel, following them was the groom accompanied by the best man, W. J. Burns of Chicago, and last of

all the bride leaning on the arm of her

father. The Rev. AValtm Officiate. The ceremony was performed by the

Rev. Fred E. "Walton, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Gary. The bride wore a princess gown and carried a shower bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley and brides' roses. The maid of honor and bridesmaid wore embroidered gowns an carrie pink roses. After congratulations a reception was held at the Tolleston hotel and seven-course

diner was served to the seventy-five guests. The bride and groom were the recipients of a great many beautiful gifts of china, cut glass, silver, books and choice bric-a-brac. They left during the afternoon for a bridal tour of the Great Lakes, after which they will reside in Tolleston. Mrs. Roberts has been for several years a very successful teacher and is a young lady who is held In universal esteem. Mr. -Roberts is a bookkeeper for the International Harvester company of Chicago. place and started on a walk with him. The officers were shadowing them all of the time. Glynn led the way to a

point between the Baltimore & Ohio railway yards and the lake shore, west of the park. OfSo-n on Guard. The officers were watching him to see what he would do when suddenly Glynn saw one of the policemen. The officer then stepped up and arrested Glynn and took him to the station. The trial and conviction on the above named charge resulted this morning. Glynn does not look like a degenerate, and says that the whole affair was unfortunate, but the police do not take much stock in his story. They say he is a dangerous person to have around, and if the officer had not permitted himself to be seen as soon as he did the police are of the opinion that Glynn might now be held on a charge that would send him to the penitentiary.
