A MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT. Despite the inclemency of the weather a large number of music lovers found their way to the K. of P. hall last night, where the Musical Art society was holding one of its musical lnformals. Those who braved the storm felt repaid in the highest degree. A better trio of musical artists one one program would be hard to find. .,,,,,, The program opened with a delight-

I Peter TV. Meyn, president of the above-named bank, do solemnly swear that the above statement is true to the best of my knowMandW President. Subscribed and sworn to before me this SOthayAprn, 0HIsa Notary Public. My commission expires Jan. 2, 1910.

lowed a magnificent treat In the shape of a vocal boIo by Mrs, Sarah Sherman Maxon. Mrs. Maxon Is a contralto.

but with such a wide range and such remarkable control of her voice, that In the higher tones, one might easily take her for a high soprano. Her tones are full and melodious, wonderfully sweet, as well as powerful. Her man

ner was so charming that the audience fell In love with her personality

as well as musically. Mrs. Maxon responded to hearty encores.

Mrs. Homer C. Dick of Chicago de

lighted the audience with her violin

solos. Mrs. Dick's soulful interpreta

tion of her music, her wonderfully clear

technique, showed her to be such a master of the violin as one is seldom

privileged to head. The audience show

ed its enthusiastic appreciation by us repeated encores. Mr. Urbanus, the tenor soloist from Chicago, had scarcely finished his first number in a triple group of songs, when he was greeted by a veritable storm of applause. Mr. Urbanus' voice is rich and full, and has the sympathetic quality that one finds so rarely in the trained voice. His selections were so varied as to show his remarkable versatility. Mr. Urbanus was also verv gracious with lils encores.

The ladies' quartette, consisting of Mesdames Oberlin, Johnston, Sheerer and Ellick, acquitted themselves in their usual creditable manner. The applause with which they were greeted both when their number was called and after they had sung, showed the popularity of these ladies, as well as the ap

preciation of the musical work this quartette has 'done.- The encore of the quarette was also greeted enthusiastically. During the social hour, following the program, the society served ice cream and cake. Many of those present expressed their appreciation of last night's program by urging the society to give another musical feast in the near future.

IS REPORTED I LI Mrs. F. J. Erble is reported to be very ill with pneumonia at her home in State street. Mrs. Eberle's friends hope for her recovery at an early date. JEWISH LADIES TO MEET. The Jewish Ladies' Aid society will meet next Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Leo Wolf, 21 Rimbach avenue. A full attendance of members is desired as business of importance will be transacted. A PLEASANT MEETING. A number of voung married ladies

met at the home of Mrs. Alfred Sherby in Wilcox street yesterday afternoon to organize a social club. It was the first meeting and several items of importance were discussed. It was decided to hold a meeting Thursday afternoon of each week at the homes of

the different members. At the close of the short business hour, the guests spent a pleasant hour with their embroidery work, after which they were served with a daintily arranged course luncheon. The following are the members of the club: Mesdames Oliver Anderson, Rodney Hobbs, George Rleman, Homer Postalwalte, O. W. Harding and Alfred Sherby.
