VISIT IN THE SOUTH. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nau of Sibley street and Miss Alice Meringhan of Bloomingtbn, 111., left last evening for Louisville, Ky., where they expect to remain about two weeks. Mr. Nau will attend the International Boilermakers' convention in session there. I1IBLE CLASS SOCIAL. Wednesday evening, at 7:30 o'clock, is the regular time for holding the M. K. prayer meeting, but on this occasion the Berea Bible class will have charge of the evening with Mrs. Fredia Whitby presiding, and a novel and interesting program ha3 been prepared, which will not be disclosed now, except that, to gain admission, every person attending must have a Bible quotation, and at the close there will be refreshments served. A quotation will take the place of a ticket, and the entertainment will be free. Everybody is invited to come with a qutation.

The question of the incorporation of

those who have been interested in the collection of a fund for a home for the aged members of the order likely will be taken up. There lias been a movement to secure sufficient funds to maintain such a home, and already a substantial sum has been realized. There is a desire on the part of the members to incorporate and proceed with the work of raising the money, and it is likely that the Question will be settled definitely at this session. There are 2S2 chartered chapters now in the state, and thirteen others which are under dispensation.

missioner of Chicago, a week ago last Monday.

this morning announcing the coming marriage of Miss Marie Margaret P.rad!ey, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William O. R. Bradley of Galesburg. 111., to Mr. William Henry Beall of Chicago. The cards tell that the marriage will take place Wednesday evening. May 12, at 8 o'clock in Grace Episcopal church, Galesburg. Invitations to attend the marriage were received in many of the prominent families in Hammond where Mr. Beall is known. Mr. Beall is the eldest son of Mrs.' Louisa Beall and formerly made their home in South Hohman street, this city. They made their homo here until quite recently when they moved to Kenwood, Chicago, on account of business interests. The report of the committee elected to revise the constiution was read and approved. The most pronounced change in the constitution was In regard to membership. Other arrangements for the banquet to the graduating class were made and It was decided to hold a meeting each Monday evening until the banquet in order to complete arrangements. The banquet will be given In the Masonic temple and all members of the association and their friends will be invited to attend. Governor Thomas Marshall will be present as a guest of the association and his address will add much to the attractiveness of the evening. The following members were elected to aet as a refreshment committee for the banquet: Mrs. Frank '' Hammond, chairman; Misses Florence Ixverldge and Elsa Masepohl.

Odd Fellows at Gary. Members of the finance committee of the Hammond Woman's club met w"ith the club's president, Mrs. J. G. Ibach, Until and Holiman street, yesterday afternoon in order to take up matters pertaining to the purchase of the building lot on Rimbach avenue on which the club had an option. No definite action was taken with the exception that arrangements were made to close up the deal with Jacob Rimbach, and tht discussion of ways and means for the raising of funds.

Police Are Busy. The police have been more than ordinarily busy of late. This morning

John Cremins was arested by orr.cer Frenck on the charge of being drunk, and was fined the usual amount of $1 and costs. John Maguire, who was arrested by Officer Schaadt on Columbia avenue, traveled over a similar route. John Sakowski was arrested at the corner of Oakley avenue and Sibley street for receiving stolen property. He Is alleged to have purchased a stolerf bl-cvcle.
