The contracts for the construction of two of the merchant mills In the Indiana Steel company have been let. The United Engineering and Foundry company of Pittsburg, and the Pencoyd works of the American Bridge company of Philadelphia will build two 12-lnch mills. The buildings for the mills asa now being erected by the American Bridge company. Orders have also been placed for a quantity of costly machinery for these mills. In speaking of the matter the Pittsburg Times-Gazette says: "Orders were placed this week by the United States Steel corporation with Pittsburg and eastern companies for a lot of costly machinery for the new Gary plant. The orders call for the building of a 10-lnch. merchant mill, which will be constructed and installed by the United States Engineering and Foundry company, and the Pencoyd works of the American Bridge company at Philadelphia will build two 12inch merchant mills.
"The division to locate merchant mills at Gary is not recent, but the announcement that construction on these mills is to start this spring Indicates, it Is said by the steel men, that the corporation is preparing to meet an increasing demand for merchant steel, which is Just now the backbone of the steel trade. The mills will require some months to complete. The buildings for the mills are being erected at Gary by the American Bridge company."
poss of organizing an association whereby they may gain political recognition. The meeting took place In Mess hall and was attended by 125 Swedes from both cities. Yesterday's session was devoted largely to preliminary work, and statements by the prospective members as to what they desired to attain throuffh their new club. The body did not come specifically out for any party or principle, but hopes to develop Into a power In whatever direction It will eventually decide to tnrow Its strength. The permanent officers have not yet been elected, but Mr. Hermann of East Chicago, acted as temporary chairman, and will probably be named
. -when the organization
gets down to the business of electing
its executives. It was decided to hold future meetings at the Auditorium lodge rooms In the Harbor.

successful business man or woman alive, who does not owe at least one for

traveled on the road to success or no matter how far you have to travel,
there Is no book you can read, no page in this paper that will freshen your
spirit of enterprise and give you such accurate knowledge of the opportun

you will find in the classified ads In the TIMES.
