THE TI1IE3.

There is a Distinct Opportunity in Burnham

for the man who establishes a Lumber Yard or Sash and Door Factory there now. C Hcgewisch and Burnham adjoin each other and have a combined population of at least 6,000, but have no place where a piece of molding, a door or a thousand feet of lumber can be secured. CI This situation presents an unusual opportunity for a lumber merchant to establish a successful branch in this neighborhood. C We have for sale several tracts of land of from one to five acres in extent, which are suitable for that purpose, situated on the Belt, Terminal or Indiana Harbor railroads.

TO REPRESEfJT HOBART Will Enter Lake CountyOratorical Contest to Be Held at Hammond. "OUR NATIONAL RESOURCES" Delivers His Subject With Grea Skill and Deliberation in High School Preliminary. (Special to The Times.) Ilobart, Ind., March 31. George E. Lobbert will represent Ilobart at the county oratorical contest at Ham mond. The oratorical contest last night was the closest contest that has ever been held In Ilobart. George Lobbert was the first speaker and the way he handled his subject, "Our National Re sources" certainly was a credit to him His delivery was strong and his ora tion was hard to be beaten. Sending George Lobbert to Hammond, Ilobart feels confident In winning a place there. Elmaide Johnson won second honors, and Ruth Johnson, from Mill ers, got third place, which she justly deserved. John Fleck made two at tempts in delivering his oration, which put him out, although his delivery was very good and would have easly taken second honors. Following is the program rendered Piano Solo Lola Schuelke. Oration: "Our National Resources' George Lobbert, '10. Oration; "Home" John Fleck, '10 Chorus: Selected High School. Oration "Power Behind the Throne' Almanda Johnson, '11. Violin Solo Ellwyn Roper, accom panied by Clara Fleck. Oration: "The Line of the City" Fred Frank, '09. Girls Trio: Selected Almaida John son, Mildred Neef and Isa Bullock, ac companied by Clara Fleck. Oration: "The Maid Orleans" Ruth Johnson, '12. Chorus: Selected High School. Causes Trouble. Four hoboes riding on a westbound train through Gary, yesterday after noon, nearly caused a wreck when they put on the air brakes in order to bring the train to a standstill that they might get off. No serious injury was none, however, but the police were in structed to look out for them and ar rest them. CASH GRAIN MARKET. winter wheat by sample: No. 2 red. ? 1.25 4C! 1.28; No. 3 red.
