Eugene Leigh, who recently made an offer to Henry M. Zeigler to lease the horse for two years, with the privilege of buying him at the end of that time for $15,000. After a conference with Trainer Charles Hughes today Zeigler refused Leigh's offer by cable and said that a price of $25,000 had been placed on the horse, and that the leasing clause would not be considered. Zeigler is anxious to retain Hermis in the stud, he having purchased him out of the E. R. Thomas sale for that purpose.
