Miss Aura Davis was defeated last evening In the ladies' skating race at the Lewis' rink; Miss Mae Smith of the White City rink winning by a good margin. Miss Davis fell on the sixth round and was compelled to fall out of

High School Notes. Now that the examinations are over comes the awful suspense about report cards. The high school papers are now in their first stage of construction, but in time we hope to make them a success. The issue this month is in the hands of the sophomore class, with Miss Mabel Spauldlng and Ben. Silverman as editors. The high school basketball squads practice regularly twice a week now. Tuesday morning witnessed another rehearsal of the high school octette. Ice hockey Is becoming prominent among local students. The seniors and Juniors are beginning to think about their themes for the oratorical preliminaries. Charles Jeppeson sprained his wrist quite severely while playing ice hockey yesterday. The East Chicago high school girls won the practice game with Indiana Harbor by a score of 25 to 0. Sam Bird, an East Chicago high school alumnus, was a local visitor yesterday. Mr. Bird is now teaching manual training in the Oak Park high school. There are but few students who are doing sufficiently good work to be exempt from the coming tests. Here's hoping! Miss Flossie Pickard made quite a hit teaching at the Harbor, we understand. My, but its nice to be a senior!
