(Special to The Times.) Indiana Harbor, Ind., Dec. 15. WorfcJ was commenced yesterday on Oe new emergency hospital at the Inland Steel company's local plant, details of the construction of which were recently given in Thb Times. The building Is to be of brick and one story in height. Located immediately adjacent to the main office of the plant, injured employes will be brought to this building where they may rest easily on 'tha best kind of apparatus, cots, etc., until the arrival of a physician. The building will comprise fouf rooms, for the attendance of serious and minor injuries. The surgical room will be fitted with cots and stretchers'
suitable for the care of an, employe
whose limbs have been crushed. While no serious operations will be performed outside of the St. Margaret's hospital at Hammond, the new building will greatly assist the physicians In the proper care of their patients before their removal to the larger hospital. The corner stone of the new build-, ing was placed in position at high noon yesterday by Chief Engineer Strale of the South Chicago Masonic fraternity, and was witnessed by some two , or three hundred employes. The step taken by the Inland company should b highly commended by professional men of the city especially, as It shows that the local corporation la interested", "in every .detail, in the care of its injured employes. Dr. Robert Ansle'y wtll hava charge of the new building.
