EAST CHICAGO. Injured in Eun-Away. As the result of a runaway R. W. Novak, agent of the Bartholomae & Roesing brewery, is 'confined to his home in Hammond . -with severe contusions upon his body. The runaway occurred in the Oklahoma territory Sat. urday afternoon, when Novak's spirited horse became unmanageable. In attempting to quiet the animal Novak was thrown from the buggy, falling on his back. Dr. G. F. Bicknell is in attendance.
Professor T. E. Williams is reported as recovered from his recent attack of typhoid fever. The lecture on "A Trip Around the World" at the Congregational church .last evening was weU attended. Rev. Brown proved himself a delightful talker and described in pleasing terms the work of missionaries in the far east. A free will offering was taken for the use of the American missionary board.
