A matinee party, at which a number I of Hammond young pople were guests, was given Thursday afternoon to see Elsie Janls in "The Fair Co-ed" at the Studebaker theater. James Wiley of Chicago was host at the party and after the matinee entertained the at tending members at an elaborate dinner at his home in Calumet avenue, Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Wiley. Mrs. Nellie Bicknell Dunham of Ham mond and Mrs. James Graham of Chicago chaperoned the fo'lowlng young people: Misses Clara and Barbara Wiley, Mildred McHie, Marguerite Minard, Ilorence Deming, Beatrice Thomas, Dorothy Edwards, Estelle Russell, Dorothy Crumpacker and Arthur Wiley. Misses Martha Bolker and Nellie Tessmer of Michigan City spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Hammond, the suests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller at their home, B20 N. Hohman street. VISITING HERE. Mr. and Mrs. John Fredericks of Cleveland, Ohio, will arrive in Ham mond tomorrow to be the guests of Miss Bertha Hansen of Rimbach ave nue for a few days. Mrs. Fredericks was formerly Miss Fannie Phillips and lived in both Hammond and East Chi cago for several years. VISITS WITH RELATIVES. Ed. McMahon of Rimbach avenue left today for Cleveland, Ohio, to re main until Monday, the guest of rel atives and friends. RETURNS TO HAMMOND. Mrs. Mable White returned to Ham mond today from quite an extended visit with relatives and friends in dif ferent points in Iowa. VISITING HERE. Mrs. John C. Mrs. Seberger and daughter, Miss Florence, have returned to their home in Crown Point after a short visit with Mrs. Hllbrich of East Sibley street. Mrs. Ceberger and Mrs. Hlllbrich are sisters. VISITS IN HUNTINGTON. Mrs. John Wilhelm has gone to Huntington, Ind to remain a few weeks and receive treatment for her eye which ha been troubling her a great deal lately. VISITING HERE THIS WEEK. Mr. and Mrs. James Wells of JIanna, Ind., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. O'Connell of 355 South Hohman street for a few days. Mrs. O'Connell Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wells. PLEASANT DANCING PARTY." The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers are busy with preparations for a dancing party to be given December 15th in the Masonic temple. The invitations for the dance will be sent out within a few days and it is expected that there will be a large attendance of members and friends. MOVE TO HAMMOND. Mr. and Mrs. J, Ault have moved to Hammond from Claypool, Ind., and will take up their residence at 327 Sibley street. PASSES A QUIET NIGHT. Little Willard Vaughn Falconburg, who Is ill at the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago passed a quiet night last night and it is though that he will con tinue to Improve from now on. MOVE TO EAST CHICAGO. Mr. and Mrs. Tomkutonls whose marriage took place Wednesday, moved to East Chicago today where they- will make their home In the future. GARFIELD CLUB MEETS. The Garfield club of the First Christian church will meet Monday evening in the church room and all members are Invited to attend. Business of importance will be transacted. LARGE BANQUET. The members of the First Methodist Sunday school will hold a banquet and reception next Thursday evening in the social room of the church, which promises to be one of the most enjoyable social affairs in the history of the school. It is expected that the banquet will be attended by a great many of the members and tachrs and all ar anticipating it with pleasure. ENJOYABLE CLUB PARTY. The members of the Erthstane club gave a very enjoyable surprise party last evening in honor of Sirs. Walter Hammond at her home in South Hohman street. The evening was passed in an informal social way with, music afer which a two course luncheon was served. The History Committee of the Ham mond Woman's club will meet Monday afternoon at the home of the vicechairman, Mrs. Henry Burke in Rimbach avenue. A full attendance of members is desired as business of im portance will be transacted and an excellent program has been prepared. GUILD MEETING St. Agnes Guild of St. Paul's Episcopal church will meet Monday evening in the guild room of the church. All the members are asked to be present as business of importance will be taken up. ENTERTAIN AT DINNER. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob W. Kuhlman and son, Elmer, of South Hohman street spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Kuhlman's sister, Mrs. C. A. Younug, in LaGrange, 111. A Thanksgiving dinner was served and a vry good time was enjoyed by all. RETURN TO SCHOOL. The Misses Frances and Eugenia Brown, who are making the fourth academic year at St. Mary's at Notre Dame return tomorrow to resume their studies after, having spent their holi day vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Miss Agnes Meikle is expected to return home tomorrow from Lynch burg, Va., where she has been spend ing the past week with her sister, Miss Eunice Meikle, who is attending the Randolph Macon school for Young La dies. HISTORY COMMITTEE. The history committee of the Wo mans' club will meet at the home of Mrs. Burke, 3 Rimbach avenue, on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock sharp.
